Reconciliation [Closed]
Who: [Bad username or site: fatestayhome title=Shirou @ livejournal.com] & [Bad username or site: caliburns title=Saber @ livejournal.com]
What: Making up for someone's mistake
When: Dinner-time
Where: Shirou's room
Warning: ...Nothing actually.
He was nervous.
No, he was actually guilt-ridden. He had been avoiding her ever since the casino fight due to the... well, argument they had at the banquet. The look she gave him before she walked out was among one of the worst he could get besides the crying face of the people he saved.
He thought that it would be best if they didn't stay in contact during their stay here but it took only a few days for him to realize that it was not right.
She was his Servant, and He was her Master. They had a contract, a bond of trust and love.
...
And it took him a few days longer to give in to the fact that he was the one in the wrong, and started brainstorming in order to find a way to apologize to her.
Which led us to the present, in which Shirou Emiya is currently staring hard at the phone, well, to be precise, at Saber's contact info.
He then steeled his will, and pressed Dial.

And it took him a few days longer to give in to the fact that he was the one in the wrong, and started brainstorming in order to find a way to apologize to her.
Which led us to the present, in which Shirou Emiya is currently staring hard at the phone, well, to be precise, at Saber's contact info.
He then steeled his will, and pressed Dial.

voice;
Did that phone even ring before she answered it? Regardless, her timing is quick when it comes to certain individuals, him ranking high above any other.
voice;
...Good, she picked up, well at least she's well and safe, judging by her tone.
"...um, can we talk?"
voice;
Even though her words are blunt, the tone in which she speaks is soft. A gentleness reserved only for him, no matter how painful his accusations were. Love is hard to discourage and in the end, there is no man she cares for greater than him.
"What would you like to discuss?"
voice;
Talking about this subject through the phone is not exactly one of his preferred way of communicating his... confession.
"Can you meet me in my room?"
Even Saber can tell that Shirou's being a bit nervous.
voice;
Denying him is a lot harder after the exchange of "I love you." Even if she has yet to say it to him within this realm, her feelings were still very much the same as they always have been.
"I am on my way." A click.
action;
A stoic look and hardened knuckles as she knocks on the door to his room.
action;
"Saber, thanks for coming."
Well, to be exact. A very nervous Shirou.
action;
She never thought herself capable of doing so, standing there resolute before him. Hair pulled into a braid, wearing a black suit, almost as though she was trying to make her gender hard to guess. No matter what happened, what he said or asked of her, Saber's loyalty was to him.
Even if that loyalty meant she should keep her distance as she had been. Silent, always watching, she ensured that he was hardly overwhelmed without making a sound.
"What troubles you?" His nervousness hardly was easy to dismiss.
action;
Well, there's no turning back now.
"I was wrong."
action;
Sorry, was he expecting anything else but honest from her?
"Even if you were, I do not hold it against you. Thoughts like that are your own to hold. I am pained you did not think to ask me before assuming, but it is my fault for earning your distrust in some manner. I am the one at fault and I will never allow myself forgiveness for ever making you feel such a way, Shirou."
action;
Back before she disappeared with the three words he had longed to hear once again.
'I love you'
"...no, its my fault for not giving you enough trust."
action;
Simple enough. Saber was use to blaming herself for so many things having gone wrong with her country, with her life, so naturally she holds herself accountable for this.
action;
It was a tone that said a lot of things, but mainly displeasure with her behavior.
"You should stop blaming yourself."
action;
Not until things were right and maybe even then..
The whole situation was frustrating. Her first and only love unable to trust her. Why did he believe Archer over her? Of all the people in this world..
And why couldn't she just forget about that? Even if she forgave him, she still thought of his words.
action;
There was only one word, and yet, for some reason Shirou is displaying not a look of confusion, but rather of one expecting an answer from her.
action;
Honest enough?
action; ...only sad icon I can get.
"I..."
Shirou was speechless. This was just like then, back at the bridge after their first and last 'date', if it could even be called that. He remembered pain, as well as anger, alongside other emotions.
...
But there was one thing he remembered clearly.
"You were my sheath, Shirou..."
...Ah.
Its clear that it was more than just a betrayal of trust, for to her, who felt that she had not deserved her fate as a king as well as being betrayed by her own men...
The feeling of being betrayed by her own love outweighs even that.
"...I..."
Shirou is at a loss of words.
action; sobs cause of that icon
It was only in his presence could she behave the way she wants to, her hands naturally going to the side of her arms to hold herself tightly, as though doing so would shield her from anything he could possibly say. Because he was the only one who could make her feel so vulnerable.
"I will never forgive myself for this, so please do not ask me to attempt otherwise."
action;
Why would he ask when there's other things to do?
This is a no brainer. He's going to move forward, and pull Saber into a hug.
action;
Even she can be taken by surprise as his arms pull her in towards his torso, a lithe frame against a body as strong as blades. While she wants to sit there and try to figure out what it means, instead she focuses on the fact that she's in his arms.
How safe it feels.
"I am beginning to understand.. I believe."
action;
From the way he's hugging her, Shirou is apparently being afraid of something.
"I'm not going to lose you again."
Which was made apparent by this sentence.
action;
A statement of that variety takes her by surprise, even if he's holding onto her dearly. There's no doubt in her mind now, all the confirmation she ever needed being made clear with the warmth resonating between the two.
"You will never lose me again." A promise she doesn't intend to break. "Shirou."
[text]
As he uttered this sentence, Shirou felt something strange, something alien speaking in his mind.
Thou art I...
And from behind him, a silhouette of a dragon (http://megamitensei.wikia.com/wiki/Pendragon) appeared.
I art thou.
As sudden as it appeared, the dragon vanished into nothingness.
...well. That's one way to ruin the moment.
action;
But then it disappears.
"... Hm." Now it was really awkward, the girl having sacrificed her intimate moment with someone she was in love with just to try to spare him. With a sheepish smile, she turns to face him.
"Old habits hardly ever fade, Shirou."
action;
Says the one who is also being awkward right now after all that Persona hub-bub.
action;
Testing those waters..
action;
He gives a nod at that.
action;
Even if something ruined the moment, she's back to being a sweetheart around him.
action;
And right at that time, Shirou can hear his own stomach rumbling.
Guess who just missed dinner because he was too nervous about this talk.
action;
"I suppose I should let you be."
action;
Shirou gave a smile.
"Would you like to join for dinner?"
