Do you like scary movies?

Who: Gawain + Anyone interested
Where: Movie theater
When: Oct 29th
Summary: Gawain rented out the theater in hopes of holding a little Halloween themed get to together. Scary movies are playing and there's food and drink out in the lobby.
Rating: PG / PG-13 (hopefully, it's just scary movies)
Warning: Scary movies, dark movie theaters, maybe some Halloween related pranks

The movie theater's lobby was set up so a large table would be in the middle of it. There are buckets of popcorn and drinks along with some candy for anyone who want food. There are a few chairs set off to the side for anyone who just wanted to chat for a while before making their way to one of the three movies playing. The lights are dimmed a little and there's all sorts of scary Halloween decorations up.

[After recent events, Kaiji's not really in the mood for zombie flicks. So he'll be goofing around in one of the showings of this movie. Prepare to defend yourself from popcorn being tossed your way!]

[April has gotten herself a bucket of popcorn and has taken a seat in one of the chairs, where she is just... examining the popcorn. She's never seen food like this before, so she's pretty curious about it, but she's not gonna eat it just yet; examinations must be done first.]

[Miki wandered into this theater room thinking she was going to get awesome zombie action. Instead she got a movie that has forced her into the fetal position in her chair, popcorn bucket on her head, whimpering. Occasionally she'll find the courage needed to look out from underneath it, only to scream and retreat back to her buttery fortress when Jason pops up and starts a-murderin' again.]

[ Likewise, Bridge has also gotten himself a bucket of popcorn. One of the super-mega-jumbo sized ones. Except it's kind of overflowing with butter. Yeah, he has a serious problem and it's a miracle he hasn't died from it. He'll give a friendly nod to April before grabbing a handful of the messy popcorn and proceeding to munch away like he hasn't had anything to eat in weeks. ]

[Wondering who that is making all the noise, Kaiji wanders up to see that it's Miki.]

What? You're actually scared of--?! [DOES NOT COMPUTE]

[Tatsuma's watching, seemingly engrossed. However, he can still manage to catch those popcorn bits without looking... somehow...]

[identity profile] nomammano.livejournal.com 2011-10-30 04:00 pm (UTC)(link)
N....No! I'. n-n-n-n-ot scared of t-t-t-this!

[Her body language is easily betraying her true feelings, since she has no color left in her skin.]

[identity profile] needsteaplz.livejournal.com 2011-10-30 04:06 pm (UTC)(link)
[Saori still hasn't decided which movie she was going to watch but that could wait since snacks take a little higher priority. She took a smaller portion of popcorn and just happened to notice April just sitting there. At that time, she went over.]

I'm guessing you never had popcorn where you're from. My sugguestion is try to pace yourself when eating it. It's sometimes easy to get sick from it if you overeat.

[identity profile] myblimpisbigger.livejournal.com 2011-10-30 04:57 pm (UTC)(link)
[This is silly.

No, really. This is incredibly silly.]

How do they not notice...

[identity profile] greyerrant.livejournal.com 2011-10-30 05:23 pm (UTC)(link)
Notice what?

[ Garviel is eating all of the popcorn. ]

[identity profile] myblimpisbigger.livejournal.com 2011-10-30 06:04 pm (UTC)(link)
[Popcorn is also silly.]

The people who are clearly exhibiting abnormal behavior, to the point where it's ludicrously obvious.

You kick the asses of real monsters all the time, but THIS bothers you?

[identity profile] genius-idiot.livejournal.com 2011-10-30 08:35 pm (UTC)(link)
[Hey that's no fair! Here comes a whole handful now.]

[identity profile] nomammano.livejournal.com 2011-10-30 09:26 pm (UTC)(link)
The real monsters aren't old ladies chasing us around with knives!
croibhristeoir: (not as brave as you were at the start)

[personal profile] croibhristeoir 2011-10-31 12:04 am (UTC)(link)
[QUITE SILLY.]

I don't think I understand the concept of 'movies' in this era. None of them seem to make sense.

[identity profile] berry-paunch.livejournal.com 2011-10-31 12:42 am (UTC)(link)
[Maybe he's too involved in the movie by this point. Or maybe he just sucks at catching lots of things at once.

At any rate, Tatsuma just got hit by a handful of popcorn. Enjoy your victory, Kaiji!
]

[identity profile] genius-idiot.livejournal.com 2011-10-31 03:09 am (UTC)(link)
[YES! And if Tatsuma turns around, Kaiji is over-acting his innocence by loudly crunching popcorn, and watching the movie. Even Kaiji has a goofy side.]

[identity profile] genius-idiot.livejournal.com 2011-10-31 03:13 am (UTC)(link)
Yeah, they're a whole lot scarier cuz they're real monsters. This is a movie!

[identity profile] nomammano.livejournal.com 2011-10-31 03:48 am (UTC)(link)
[Though it's apparent that Miki is still shaken up from the movie, she tries to show some modicum of bravery.]

I...I know that!

[identity profile] berry-paunch.livejournal.com 2011-10-31 05:26 am (UTC)(link)
[Tatsuma just looks back with his best impression of a kicked puppy.]

[identity profile] genius-idiot.livejournal.com 2011-10-31 01:20 pm (UTC)(link)
... [He can't help it. He laughs.]

[identity profile] berry-paunch.livejournal.com 2011-11-01 01:26 am (UTC)(link)
[S-so mean.]

[identity profile] needsteaplz.livejournal.com 2011-11-01 07:56 am (UTC)(link)
[For someone who died from being eating by zombies, it's rather amazing she's watching a zombie flick. But on the other hand it swings towards the comedic route and she could use a good laugh.

Don't mind her, Papa Bird if she sits next to you, noming on some popcorn.]

It's called 'suspension of disbelief', Baron. The audience has to be able to over look these sort of things for the sake for entertainment. In this case, the characters are suddenly thrust upon the situation so panic can over-ride logic.

I'm sure some of your world's theatrical performances contains moments where something seems rather unrealistic or blown out of proportion. Those sorts of things happen to once again entertain their audience.

[identity profile] genius-idiot.livejournal.com 2011-11-01 02:40 pm (UTC)(link)
Then why are you ducked down in your seat like that.

[identity profile] techno-logical.livejournal.com 2011-11-01 09:26 pm (UTC)(link)
[April gives him a nod back, even if the popcorn completely covered in butter does get a curious look from the redhead.]

... Are you meant to put that much butter on this stuff? [She's just honestly curious.]

[identity profile] techno-logical.livejournal.com 2011-11-01 09:36 pm (UTC)(link)
[April blinks up at Saori, before nodding a few times.]

Your guess is right! So, um, should I stick to eating small handfuls of it?

[identity profile] nomammano.livejournal.com 2011-11-01 09:50 pm (UTC)(link)
[Slowly as showing great effort, as if she had weights hanging from her elbows she stands up.]

I...I'm not! See?!

[When the person in the raincoat decapitates another camper, Miki's ghost white fingers appear to almost penetrate through the seat back she is holding. A strange whine emanates from her mouth, the only trace of a scream that is trapped behind her gritted teeth.]

[identity profile] buttery-tech.livejournal.com 2011-11-02 01:31 am (UTC)(link)
Probably not! But I like it that way.

[Someone should probably lecture him about eating healthy some day. Computer nerds have the worst diets.]

So, you here to watch one of these movies? ...They all seem a little, uh, too violent for me, really.

[identity profile] greyerrant.livejournal.com 2011-11-02 04:35 am (UTC)(link)
Well, yes. But we're trained warriors. Of course we would notice that.
