It all started with one request, but it quickly grew from there. Once Saori was done with work at the high school's kitchen, she went over to the local market to buy her ingredients.

She made a beeline to the hotel's kitchen and got started cooking. The soba noodles had to get started first and then she could work on the rest. It didn't help that Kanda didn't specify what kind of soba he wanted, so she started off making both cold and hot versions. Of course just noodles wouldn't be filling enough so she quickly made some tempura to accompany it.

In about an hour she had everything, including extra in case others wanted. She even prepared a bowl of hot soba for herself. All she had to do now was wait.

[Miki has mostly floated down to the hotel kitchen, drawn to a smell she hasn't experienced since she arrived in Prospero.]

I..Is that Soba? [She asks while standing in the doorway, halfway to full on hunger drool.]

Yes, it is. Would you like some?

So how do you like your soba, hot or cold? I even made some tempura to go with it.

"Hot! I've been here about 3 weeks, they just let me move into the hotel."

Sure thing. Have a seat. Want some tempura on the side?

[Saori turns her back to get the bowl ready. Some freshly cooked noodles and a simple soup stock and its done.]

"Of course! I'm Onimaru Miki. So, uh, why are you making all this soba anyway?"

Someone just happened to say they wanted soba since the local eateries aren't apparently up to his standards. Also I was in the mood for it and I thought I'd make some extra in case anyone else wanted.

[She plates the tempura separately from the bowl so they don't go soggy. Once everything's set, she gets it all on one tray and serves it to Miki.]

[Miki says as she begins to quickly cram the food into her mouth. After some chewing and swallowing she begins to speak again.]

[She couldn't but laugh because her brother used to eat his soba like too.]

I learned most of my cooking through my grandma but a lot of it was self-taught too. So, I'm guessing you approve my soba cooking skills?

Oh, I was just making some bowls of soba noodles. Someone wanted soba so badly, so I guess I might've went overboard. Would you like some?

There's two ways to eat it: cold with a dipping sauce or in a bowl of hot soup. And since just noodles aren't that filling, I made tempura as well. It's mostly vegetable tempura but there's shrimp tempura as well.

So what will you be having tonight?

Oh you're here. Glad to see you made it.

Well, first off I wasn't sure what kind if soba you wanted. Plus, I figured there would be more people who'd want some.
