Going in for the kill. [Closed]
WHO: Ledah and April.
WHEN: October 15, during the day.
WHERE: Starting inside the library.
SUMMARY: Zombies are out during the day. This is not fair.
RATING: PG-13-R for violence that ends in death.
WARNINGS: Ledah is going to get killed.
The library should have been a peaceful place to research what was going on and make plans. Certainly, Ledah wasn't expecting an attack, and he wasn't going to go out and brandish weapons in broad daylight. So his lance wasn't with him at the moment. He would pick it up before the Dark Hour was upon them.
So when a scream of pain interrupted his thoughts, and he looked up to see that something was clawing and tearing at the librarian's skin, and the other citizens in the room were in a state of panic
Ledah didn't have wings, but one could be forgiven for thinking that for how quickly he flew to April's side. "Are you armed?"

... Wasn't that one of those zombie things that had started to appear during the Dark Hour recently?
[And her eyes glance around the library to see if there are any more.]

We should go back to the hotel. This isn't defensible and I don't have a proper weapon here.
[He's looking, too, but for something makeshift.]
no subject
Will this be okay for now?

[Ledah takes the broom with a nod of thanks. With calm strides, he makes it to the front of the library to look out the windows.]
There are a number of them outside. [Too many for comfort, when they haven't summoned their Personas in the day before.]

She could try shooting at them from here, but she didn't have much ammo on her and the noise of the gunshots might just attract even more of them. And she doubted that they would be able to summon their Personas during the day... But staying here is not a good idea so...]
... Do you think I should try shooting down a few of them? ... Or maybe there's a back exit or something we could use... [She rubs her forehead as she thinks some more.]
no subject
[Some, but not all if more come.]
no subject
R-right, okay.
[She was worried that this wouldn't end well, but she forced herself to push that worry aside.]
no subject
...It sticks. [Ledah steps on the body to ease pulling his 'lance' out.]

How are you feeling? [Asked after stabbing yet another to a second death.]

And another zombie is shot in the head and she goes to reload her gun, though another tries to take advantage of this pause to attack her, but she manages to shoot it before it could do anything more than leave a few cuts along the top of her arm. It's nothing serious, despite the sharp sting of pain it brought, and April is quick to ignore the injury.]
What about you, how're you feeling?

April frowns at Ledah and shakes her head.]
And what about you? I'm not leaving you behind.
no subject
You could bring me back my lance if you would like.
[He knows his confidence is mostly faked for her benefit, but the practical decision is to have the one with the stronger Persona be in a safe place until that Persona can be used.]
no subject
But what if you get swarmed by these things? Would you be able to fight all of them?
no subject
[Pause to kill another zombie.]
no subject
... And what if I do go on ahead, and these things end up injuring you badly o-or worse? [Since the number of them didn't seem to be going down anytime soon.]

B-but- [She flinches at the crack in her voice and turns her attention back to shooting the zombies, though she didn't have that many rounds left now...]

... R-right.

He was also very good at attracting attention to himself, which helped clear the path for her.]

The sudden stinging at her eyes and horrible, cold twist of her stomach catches her off guard, but she forces herself to push those aside and, with one quick glance back at Ledah, she moves on ahead.]

This is what he was created for, after all. No matter how many zombies swarm him, he will continue to sweep them; no matter how long it takes and how many injuries he gains, he'll destroy anything that shouldn't exist in this world.
Even when his injuries bring him down to one knee, he still has the strength to call forth Bishamonten for a few attacks.]

It isn't long till she reaches the hotel, having made sure to kill any zombies that got in her way.]

And despite her attempts to brush them away, more just stream down her face as a heavy feeling of guilt wells up in her chest; she shouldn't have just left him, she should've tried to do something, but it's too late for that now. So, she just sobs quietly to herself, pressing the heels of her hands to her eyes as she tries to calm herself down; there are still zombies to fight, after all.]
