A Model of Decorum and Tranquility [Closed]
Who: Klaus and Ingrid
What: A Coffee not-date to discuss the biology curriculum at the high school.
Where: The cutest coffee shop available.
When: November 1st.
Rating: G, since all that's going on is two old people talking (and possibly snarking) at each other.
If Klaus had known that Ingrid was also teaching high school biology, he might have thought twice before taking the job. As it was, his current access to his Spark made making a living solely through weapon and technology commissions impossible (weeks, to make a simple lightning sword!), but money was still something he was going to need to get by in this ridiculous city and even a teacher's salary would do.
That still meant working with Ingrid, though. Which meant they needed to coordinate their classes, or else they'd be doing their students a disservice and probably annoy the shit out of the administration. Which meant they needed to talk to each other. To make that horrible ordeal easier, they'd chosen to do it in a coffee shop. Klaus had arrived early and was currently nursing a black coffee and organizing the preliminary notes he'd written up. He had a feeling she'd be less than impressed if he didn't already have a plan to discuss, and he wasn't interested in losing what little respect she still had for him (if, indeed, she had any left at all).

She might still want to box him but if there was one thing Ingrid enjoyed more than giving others their comeuppance, it was teaching. Even if it meant setting aside her feelings to speak to Klaus, she would and could for the good of her students. Which is why, when she entered the coffee shop, sitting down near Klaus with her own black brew, she was determined to be on her best behavior.
"Afternoon, scoundrel."
Well, best behavior by her standards. At least she was smiling as she said it.

"Afternoon. I trust you've been well since things calmed down?"
Look, Ingrid. He was even polite enough to find himself a proper eyepatch. That's class, that is, not making you look at an empty eye socket.

"As well as can be expected. Physically fairing better than you, it seems." She gestured to her face. "Did you at least see a doctor about that?"
She more than suspected he didn't.

So, in short, she was completely and utterly right.
