He was never one to turn down wine, regardless of the quality. He had to settle for less than the best when it came to this era. It was a pain, but one he would have to deal with. Ah, and the cake. He had never really been one for sweets, especially not those dressed up so cutely. But she seemed rather enthusiastic about the whole thing, so how could he deny her?

"I'm afraid I have no particular fondness for serpents, but this one seems harmless enough."
