Under The Influence Of Cupid. ♥
Who: Beatrice and Gilgamesh
Where: Gilgamesh's Condo
When: Around 7:30pm.
What: Valentine's Day shenanigans commence when one slightly love struck witch goes in search of the most ill-tempered king.
Rating: PG-13
Status: Closed
Beatrice stood just outside of the door of the condo and battled with herself internally.
This is a bad idea. Isn't it okay to keep some things to yourself, Beatrice? Can't you control your feet and the direction they take? No, not when they're being led by your heart, right? He's just going to tell you to leave. But at least then you can say you tried, isn't that true? If you try and nothing comes of it, you've lost nothing.
She'd rest her hand over her chest, feeling the sigh fill her frame and then escape ruggedly.
You've talked to him a hundred times. Stop being such a child.
With that, there would be a gentle rap to Gilgamesh's door.

Of course, just after he had gotten himself comfortable and sprawled over his couch, he heard a faint knocking at the door. Who in the world would be visiting him now? As far as he knew, Arturia was still working and V/V was probably off doing whatever her little angelic brain could think of doing.
The twin cubs would usually be curious as to who was outside the door, but they seemed to have worn themselves out earlier in the day, living the king as the only concious creature residing in his condo. And it would be silly to think the door would answer itself, wouldn't it? Giving a sigh, Gilgamesh eventually made his way to the door and began to crack it open only wide enough to see who was outside.

The door would open to an unusually demure looking Beatrice. Where he would normally find a defiant grin, there would be a lip being nipped at nervously. Those blue eyes that sparkled when she had the upper hand now glanced away from him in a way that could almost be described as shy.
"D...Do you have a moment? If you don't mind. I'd like to talk to you. It's kind of important."
no subject
But, no. Something was off here. Enough so to warrant mild curiousity. And so he would take a look outside as if making sure noone actually saw her before inviting her inside.
"Really, something of importance? And you're coming to me? I suppose you have aroused my curiosity. What's on your mind?"
no subject
"I see Saber's still out for the evening, then?"
She was thankful for that. There was no way she could get anything done with her around.
She didn't dare turn back to him. Perhaps she could get said what she needed to say without having to do so.
"I've been a bother to you thus far, haven't I? I've been cruel, I know. So then...I suppose...there's no way I could convince you...that I've grown fond of you...that I..."
Her voice might have trailed off. This wasn't as simple as she had expected.
no subject
"Of course. Some kings never tire of unrewarding work."
He could barely stand his job, how did that woman manage all of hers? Not that it was really his concern anymore. It was actually nice to have the place to himself. He was free to do as he pleased without any company beyond the lion cubs.
His eyes traveled across the room before finally settling on her form, somewhat amused by this odd behavior of hers. Of course, he wouldn't put it past her to try putting on an act. Some women were like that, weren't they? But he was no fool, and he knew her tricks all too well.
"You've told me countless times what a despicable man I am, and now you're here trying to confess such things. Are you serious?"
no subject
No, this will have to be ignored. This has to be fleeting. He already thinks she's a bother and now he'll think she's crazy as well.
"N-No, of course not. I'm sorry. Please forget that I came here. I'll see myself out."
She pressed her hand over her mouth.
Don't let anything else out. This is a disaster.
The door was only a few steps away. She could silently slip out and hopefully be gone by the time he got up. After a sigh, she'd attempt just that.
no subject
He's not exactly sure why he commanded her to do such. Perhaps he was actually interested in why she would go out of her way to visit him? Why she would even be joking around like this in the first place? None of this was adding up, really. Even for someone like her, it didn't seem right.
"You came here to say something. Get it off your chest. It doesn't matter how nonsensical it may be. Speak your mind. I'll listen."
Well, at least until he decides she's completly delusional and possibly on drugs, that is.
no subject
Fine. If he wanted an explanation, she'd give him one. Perhaps she could still make it to the door before he made a snide comment about it.
"Very well. I'm in a predicament I'm hardly familiar with. I-It's you. I haven't been able to get you out of my mind lately. In fact, I think of you constantly. I long to be near you...to touch you...to talk to you. I don't even know how to conduct myself anymore.
Please...don't make me go on. Let me leave."
no subject
"Those feelings are perfectly natural, aren't they? Some would wonder why it's taken this long for you to finally confess them."
He's not going to stop her if she actually wishes to leave. It's her choice, after all. Though it would be a shame to leave after all of this, wouldn't it?
no subject
"...Like you almost expected it. Perhaps it...it took me a little longer to notice it. I-I don't expect you to respond to this. However...I do appreciate you being gracious. You've got more royal qualities than I give you credit for."
She'd return his smile, a bit more composed than a moment before. After which, she'd make her way out of his door. This bit of contact, it was enough for her, at least.
2/11 - Evening
Well, it put him in a strange mood, to say the least. The more he tried to wave the night off as something being wrong with her, the more he felt sudden urges rise up in him. Ones he hadn't felt since... Well, a very long time, now.
He still had time to turn back, didn't he? But no, he continued. He arrived at her door not too soon after she had called for him and knocked on the door rather loudly.

She had spent the afternoon making her little suite look presentable. She'd spread out everything nicely on the coffee table in front of her smallish couch. The table was too formal. She wanted this to be romantic and somewhat intimate and suddenly blushed at the thought.
She'd half expected him to tell her to go to hell on her invitation, but he was surprisingly gracious. It only fueled her need to make things at least look perfect. The artfully crafted snake dessert sat, unblinking on the table. She placed two plates beside it and two cups which were to be filled with a sweet white wine. She seemed pleased with the aesthetics just as she heard the knock at the door.
Answering promptly, she offered him a brilliant smile and welcomed him in.
"I...I'm glad you came. As I recall, the last time you were here, the place was a mess. I hope it looks a bit more comfortable, now. Please come over and have a seat.~"
no subject
"Well, it is certainly better than last time."
Anyways, he'll make his way over to the couch and take a seat. Rather than sprawling at as he would in his own home, he took to one side. It was pretty small, after all.
Of course, his eyes couldn't stop themselves from wandering and happened to fall upon what laid upon the coffee table. Several thoughts entered his mind, some less pleasant than the others, but he would still pull off a charming smile.
"Is this what you called me over for?"
no subject
"Y...yes! It was given to me by a friend of mine and I thought maybe you'd like to join me in eating it. Cute little creation, isn't it?"
She busied herself with cutting a few pieces from the shortcake snake's body and placed them gently, one for each plate. She'd then pour some wine into the waiting glasses and hand him one.
"I do hope it wasn't too much of an intrusion to ask you here. I thought, perhaps we could use the opportunity to get to know one another better. That's alright, isn't it?"
no subject
"I'm afraid I have no particular fondness for serpents, but this one seems harmless enough."
He can at least amuse her by taking a bite, can't he? And to be honest, it wasn't half bad. Ah, but that little comment caught his attention, causing his eyes to fixate on her with some sort of interest.
"Are you really that interested in learning more about myself? I suppose that's fine, but I doubt there's anything about me that you don't already know."
no subject
"If you dislike them so, then take comfort in my cutting him up nicely for you."
She'd giggle in spite of herself before reaching for her own plate. It really was delightful. She internally thanked Allen for sharing the wealth.
"Oh, I am indeed. You're an interesting man, of course, but I want to know the small things. What kind of tea do you like? Do you even like tea? Those are just examples, anyway. You have to know a person's dreams before you can be close to them. Is it too forward of me to want to be close to you~?"
At this, she'd hide a growing blush with a sip from her wineglass.
no subject
Never taking his eyes off her, he reached for his own glass and took a sip or two. He had tasted far better, but it complicated the sweet well enough that it was acceptable.
Of course, another grin spread across his face as he pondered her question.
"Oh, I doubt I'm anywhere near the expect on that matter as you are. Herbal teas were very popular back during my rule. And even during the war, I never really paid much attention to what that stupid priest prepared for me. I suppose the stronger, the better. As for that last bit? It all depends on how close you want to get~"
no subject
"I...I'm sure I could brew you the perfect cup of tea, then. And, if you want my honesty, I want to be as close as I can be to you. It may be sudden, but I want you to notice me; to see me romantically. I...I want to spend more time like this. With you and I together.
I...I could make you happy...if you let me."
no subject
"You've got a bit of the snake on your face. Hold still and I'll get it for you."
Oh, it started out simple and innocently enough, didn't it? Just a hand cupping her cheek, wiping a bit of the dessert off the corner of her mouth. Of course, it didn't stop there. They were oh so very close now, and getting closer by the second. And then it happened. Their lips met, for how long was anyone's guess, but it was certainly long enough for it to register in her mind.
no subject
She hadn't gotten a word in before his lips were pressed to hers. Her eyes widened from the shock at first, but slowly lidded as the kiss deepened. The whole thing was spur of the moment and blissful and she was more than happy to return the sentiment. This kiss was so much different from the one he stole when they first met. This was warm and inviting. It might be too early to call this love, but his tenderness certainly made it a possibility.
no subject
...It was odd, he had to note, that the more kisses he left, the lighter his head felt. But he didn't really mind. It was surely just an effect of the wine, was it not?
no subject
Offering him a soft sigh for his effort, her mind began to wander. Of course, such a thought was short lived as she suddenly drifted into blackness and her body went still.
What a time to pass out.
no subject
"...What the hell? We haven't even started doing anything serious ye-"
And just then, his gaze happened to land directly on her steady, heaving, nearly unclothed chest. A couple of second later, he would join her in a state of unconsciousness.
