[ Okabe is currently waiting outside the hotel in the spot he said he would be meeting Kurisu at. Pacing back and forth a little trying to not act nervous. This wasn't anything big, he'd been on a date before though it wasn't a date date, it was just walking around with Ruka in order to get them to reverse the d-mail they sent. Still he couldn't help but act a little off, for some reason he'd been feeling a big weird lately when ever he tried talking to Kurisu, but it just had to be the holiday doing that to him right? ]

[It was clear that Kurisu left the hotel room in a hurry. She did wash her hands before leaving, but there still were a few chocolaty droplets on her dress that she had no time to clean. Looking nice, huh... probably that dish required putting on an apron after all. But what if somebody had seen her wearing it? Still, Kurisu giftwrapped the results of her hard work. It wasn't that bad, was it?

It took her a few seconds to notice Okabe once she walked out of the building - probably because she was instinctively looking for a labcoat and Okabe did not wear one this time. Come to think of it, he looked quite handsome... and for the love of Einstein what are these thoughts supposed to be. To prevent herself from doing further mental research on Okabe's attractiveness, Kurisu basically ran to him, hoping that he would not notice the faint blush.]

Hi, Okabe... I hope you did not have to wait long?

I wasn't waiting long, I just got here not to long ago.

[ That was kinda a lie, truth be told he had been standing outside for at least half an hour. It was good to be slighly early right? ]

You look nice. [ She looked more than nice but he couldn't really form any other words. It was the first time that he saw her in something other then her normal shorts, jacket and dress shirt or a labcoat. ]

A-anyway now that you've come to meet me Christina we can discuss something important.

I'm glad to hear this... It wouldn't be good if you caught a cold standing here. [Just what was she talking about?]

T-thank you, Okabe... [Why did he call her out here? Was it to ridicule her or did he have something else in mind? What was that important thing he wanted to discuss? And most importantly, Kurisu thought, what was that giddy feeling that prevented her from constructing and articulating proper sentences?

That reminded her - she had something to tell Okabe as well. And a gift for him but that can wait.]

What did you want to discuss with me, Okabe?

[Kurisu at least hoped these words sounded like her usual speech.]

Mad scientists don't catch colds! [ Being over dramatic like always, but what else was he going to do. It was a good way to mask his nervousness at least. ]

It's Valentines day, even though I think it's just a plot by both the consumer market and the organization to drain money out of everyone's pockets, the least I can do is take my assistant out to dinner.

[ Okabe clears his throat before talking again. ]

Because you're important to me and making sure you're happy is something I should do more often.

[Important... to him? Could Okabe really... no, he specified that he was taking her out as his colleague... but on the other hand the way he worded this suggested that he really might have maybe and just maybe and there's no scientific data on it but could Okabe actually have romantic feelings for her? Or not, it was just her wishful thinking but why would she wish for Okabe to have feelings for her... and they have kissed before for God's sake, how was she supposed to react now? Stupid Okabe was so unscientific and it's probably high time to say something since her overanalysis of situation caused a rather awkward pause...]

I really appreciate that, Okabe... I agree that we should spend more time together as in this unfamiliar city we only have each other...

[What was she even talking about. That's totally like some teen love story to reading which Kurisu would never admit.]

[ That didn't go as planned, but Okabe was having trouble wording how he felt. Kurisu was important to him, but in more ways then just being a member of the lab. Why is romance so hard? He did confess before after all and they did kiss. This sort of thing should be easy but it isn't. ]

Do you remember what I told you before back at the lab before we ended up here? I love you and even if we're no longer in Japan or in the same situation still my thoughts haven't changed.

[Okabe, do you really think she could forget? Kurisu has been analyzing it for hours and the research has yet to yield real results.]

But you didn't mention it later even once and you still treat me the same way as before... I figured out you only said it because of your mental state back then and it wasn't meant to be taken seriously... or that you regret it and it would be better to pretend it didn't happen.

I was waiting in till things settled down and I'd figure out exactly how things work here.

Pretending it never happened isn't something I want to do, and I'm completely serious about what I said. Even if you don't think I was being serious or not in the right state of mind.

I only thought you weren't serious because you never mentioned it later. I mean... if you really mean it, that makes me [REALLY HAPPY] rather happy... I guess.

[She gives Okabe a really warm smile, one that suggests more than "rather happy"]

[ He's trying not to blush, but that smile is really cute. ]

I'm glad you feel that way at least. [ Because things could be worse and it would just be heartbreaking for him. ]

[Is this the part where parties involved jump into each other's arms and kiss? Maybe but Kurisu wouldn't be the one to initiate that. So, what to do now to avoid awkward silence?]

Um... Okabe... I completly forgot but I have a Valentine's Day gift for you...

[She pulls out the package prepared earlier]

[ He kinda figured that Kurisu would try and make him something given that when they had talked before her hands were covered in chocolate. It was a good idea in theory but he had tried eating food she made before and it was enough to knock a normal person out if they weren't careful. ]

You didn't have to get me anything you know. But I guess this means I just have to do something over the top to pay you back next month.

[ He takes takes the box from her and puts it in his coat pocket before taking her hand. ] Hopefully this will be enough for now though.

[ Hand holding is serious business ok. ]

You don't have to do anything if it troubles you, Okabe...

[Kurisu wasn't sure if her gift was well received but she'll think about it later. Well, she expected Okabe to do something romance-related, but that does not mean she was not affected by it. Okabe's hand was so warm and felt so nice and that giddy feeling in her stomach got even stronger. She squeezed Okabe's hand slightly and moved closer to him. Was that perfume scent? He smelled really nice.]

[ As Kurisu moved closer to him, his heart started racing a little. He was happy about all of this, sure those chocolates would come back to hurt his insides, but no one besides Mayuri got him anything on Valentines day even if that was just out of friendship, but this was different. ]

It's not troubling at all.

[ He tries to bring her a bit closer, embarrassing her in a hug. Rushing in to things was a bad idea so working up from hand holding to now hugging to kissing was the best route to take. ]

[She pressed her head against Okabe's chest. His whole body was warm and she could almost hear his heartbeat - or was it her own heart that suddenly decided to pump blood like crazy? Kurisu took a deep breath.]

You smell so nice...

[She looked straight into Okabe's eyes and smiled.]

[ He just held her tighter, taking a deep breath in order to calm down a little. His heart was still beating a mile a minute it seemed. ]

You're smile is extremely cute you know.

Don't say embarassing things like that, Okabe...

[She might have said that out of habit, but in reality Okabe's remark pleased her, even though it would definitely make her angry under normal circumstances. However, this situation was far from being normal so it was acceptable to just follow her instincts for now.

She raised her hand and ran her fingers through Okabe's hair]

I should be able to say things like seeing as it's true.

[ Okabe just smiled as Kurisu started to run her fingers through his hair. Even if it was a mess most of the time he did take the time to clean and comb his hair this morning as part of the "look somewhat nicely dressed" plan for today. Now was the perfect time to go in for a kiss. Leaning in to give her a small kiss on the lips, something felt a little off, but it wasn't anything right? Just butterflies in his stomach right? Not like he would pass out if he tried to do anything past this. ]

[Was there something wrong with Okabe? Kurisu took her hand out of his hair and placed it on his shoulder. It seemed like he was going to kiss her... right?]

[ Yep something was wrong, he really wasn't feeling well after getting in place to kiss her. Stupid event causing people to pass out. ]

Kurisu, why don't we stop for now and go out to dinner?

[...are you serious, Okabe.

ARE YOU SERIOUS, OKABE. She is disappoint.]

...well, if you prefer it this way, I guess it's fine with me, Okabe... I mean, it's not like we were attempting to do anything here and it's getting quite cold...

[ Blame the event not the mad scientist. ]

If you're being sarcastic I have my reasons for doing this. Going on a date is the first step to any relationship and it's better to take it slow.
