Ingrid, dressed to finely for the location, walked slowly around the Tesla exhibit. She was pretending to be observing a model of the scientist's magnetic motor, but anyone paying attention would notice she was really spending her time smiling at her companion. She leaned over to touch his arm, pointing at a particular model a few feet over. "Who was the one inventing things like this in your world?"

The one? Klaus laughs indulgently, laying his hand on top of hers.

"Magnetic motors are quite commonplace where I come from, you know. Everyone invents one at one point or another; they're a milestone, much like one's first construct or first weaponized toaster."

"Compared to this one, yes. I hadn't actually found any of it truly impressive until I was without it. Do you know how aggravating getting around without an airship is? Cars are simple enough but there simply isn't the same flare."

Besides, he doesn't exactly have enough money for a car on nothing but a few months of teacher's salary. And all the modern cars are designed to be as ugly as possible. And ugh.

"Oh, I'm certainly not planning on taking over anything, except perhaps the science department." He allows himself a small chuckle. "Though I do have designs for a small air-based vehicle in the works, if I can ever scrounge up enough parts. If I patent that, perhaps I won't need to take over the science department."

Or even work as a teacher at all. Not that he dislikes it, but the restrictions placed on him are annoying. What is this 'curriculum' and why does he have to follow it?
