Tryin' to walk through the pain
Who: Albedo and Gaignun
Where: Gaignun's hotel room.
When: Saturday morning.
What: Brothers meet after a painful death. Violence and bonding ensue, in that order.
Rating: Probably PG-13 for mild violence and references to death and insanity.
It didn't take much to figure out that Nigredo was angry, but Albedo couldn't blame him. He had, after all, felt the same way when it was him forced to watch his brother fade away. But he didn't regret what he had done-well, maybe he acknowledged that he shouldn't have said some of the things he had while he was insane, but he didn't regret dying. There hadn't been any other way, unless Rubedo had spontaneously reappeared. And that was what he needed to explain to Nigredo, now that he had the time and the focus.
To anyone who didn't know better, he seemed perfectly calm walking through the hotel toward his brother's room. Nobody would have been able to tell that the last time he'd been able to walk on his own, he had been on a rampage and traumatized two people. They wouldn't be able to tell that he was still volatile, barely containing a nearly crippling pain. In truth, he felt like he'd been torn in half, but he couldn't let it show. He couldn't let himself show his weakness. Not in the hallway, and not as he raised a gloved fist to knock firmly on his brother's door.

"I'm not surprised you're groggy, you just woke up. But that's fine, I don't think I'm up to you being high energy right now anyways."

He turned his hand over to look at his gloved palm as the amusement faded from his expression. His nightmares were bad enough at the best of times, but they would be that much worse now that Rubedo was gone and he was sane again.

"If you want to, I'll probably be in my room doing paper work most of the night if you want to crash there." There, offer made. "If you can sleep with typing that is."

He managed a taunting smirk, nudging Nigredo again.

"Still, I suppose for your sake I can knock off early."
Keywords, bbbro.
His mood had lifted enough to give a proper smirk, but his hand remained firmly around his brother's. His teasing was interrupted by a yawn, however, and he leaned back against the wall himself...and maybe a little bit on Nigredo.

"Maybe you should just take it easy today. Anything you had to do can wait one more day."

"You won't be out of action for long I suspect. You'll rest for a day and then get bored enough to go out again."
no subject
"And I suspect I'll be bored long before I have the energy to be out and about again."

There was a small part of him that was glad that Albedo might be sticking to one place for a while, it would make him easier to keep an eye on in those random moments of paranoia that Nigredo knew were going to come. "Though I suppose I can go pick you up some things for entertainment."

"But you know, Nigredo, I've missed quite a bit of time I could have spent adding to my collection."
He hoped his brother knew him well enough to figure out what collection he was talking about.

He reached over to give the younger URTV a light punch to the side of the head, but he looked amused despite his complaints.
"I'll show you where I keep them."
no subject
"Alright. We'll go when you're ready."
no subject
"I don't think I'm going to get any more inclined to get up the longer we sit here."

"If we're getting up anyway, we may as well go fetch my things."
no subject
"May as well. How much are you bringing over?" He asked, awkwardly hauling himself up as best he could with one hand.

He forced himself the rest of the way to his feet, careful not to pull Nigredo back down lest they both fall over.
"I would like to bring a bottle of my wine, as well."
no subject
"Come on. Let's go."

He started for the door with a bit of a smug smirk. He was still missing a few books he wanted, but he was still proud of his collection. And even though his humor was still ringing hollow, he still couldn't pass up the chance to one-up his brother.
