Neville is wandering around the island, confused and worried. He's lost in some strange world, he's lost without a wand and wandless magic isn't working. There's muggles everywhere, muggle devices everywhere. In fact he woke up with one, some strange little thing with too many buttons that spoke at random intervals. Talking back at it hadn't done anything. He was lost, bruised, and getting more than a little worried.

"No. I just arrived. Is that typical? Just sort of poofing here?"

"More common than ya think. You got one of these?" Kaiji fished out his phone and held it up.

He dug in his pants pocket, pulling out an identical phone. "Yeah, but I don't really know what it is."

[genius_idiot]

That confirmed it for Kaiji. "A smart phone. Everyone brought here gets one. Someone knows who they're bringing here; it's not random. Our names are programmed into these things."

"Smart phone? Were the original ones stupid?" He asked, perfectly serious.

[genius_idiot]

Kaiji looked incredulous. "...They don't have these where you're from, do they."

[madethemproud]

"No." He grimaced, trying to hide his embarrassment. "Do most people know what they are?"

[genius_idiot]

"That depends. A lot of people here don't even come from this time, or this world. So I guess I ain't really surprised."

"Not from this world? Like aliens?" He's sure he'd heard Seamus going on about those back when they were younger.

[genius_idiot]

"I guess technically, that's true. More like... I dunno, inter-dimensional aliens or somethin'."

All this stuff was still very foreign to Kaiji. He shakes his head and continues. "I probably ain't the best guy to be asking all this, but there's a lot of people here you can talk to, at least."

"How many of us are there?" He stared down at the phone, fiddling with the buttons.
