Neville is wandering around the island, confused and worried. He's lost in some strange world, he's lost without a wand and wandless magic isn't working. There's muggles everywhere, muggle devices everywhere. In fact he woke up with one, some strange little thing with too many buttons that spoke at random intervals. Talking back at it hadn't done anything. He was lost, bruised, and getting more than a little worried.

"I've never heard of anything like that." Too bad Hermione wasn't here for him to ask about it.

"Months. And still nothing." His frown deepened. "And they've just left you alone here all this time?"

"I have not either, but this place has showed me that such a thing exist." Oh my goodness, no. He could not take an interrogation right now.

"Well, I am not alone here. There are many others here that are in the same situation."

Breathing in, he sighs. "I should warn you; If you had magic of some sort in your world, your magic has been sealed and locked."

"I meant, the people who've brought you here. Why haven't they done anything else to you?" Neville asked. "And how do you know about magic?"

[fourteenthscion]

"They ah... They do many... things. Never directly, it seems." Pleasant smile here. "Many occupants here were able to use magic, or had some sort of power."

[madethemproud]

"Were. They sealed up our magic, didn't they?" His jaw tightened. "That one of the things they do?"

[fourteenthscion]

"Correct. Your magic has been replaced with... something different, I should say." While he would normally show his persona to new-comers, there were too many citizens who didn't know about the dark hour surrounding them.

"A god of some sort."

"A god." Sorry Neah but wizards are a bit skeptical to this whole religion thing so that doesn't really answer anything to him.

[fourteenthscion]

"Or a demon." Hey man. You know he would totally summon Nyx right now if they weren't standing in the middle of a public sidewalk. "I would show you what I am referring to, but ah... We are in public."

"Are we not allowed to use these demon-gods in public?"

[fourteenthscion]

"Ah, well. Not everyone in the city is aware of the dynamic of the city. Besides, it would be rather odd if I were to summon a demon in front of humans, yes?"

[madethemproud]

"I suppose so. But it is very hard to believe." Neville grimaced. "I don't want to sound as though I'm doubting you, but from an outsider's perspective it seems kind of fantastical."

[fourteenthscion]

"I did not believe when I first arrived here as well. It is understandable, young man." Pleasantly smiling, he continued walking toward the hotel where he could find this kid a place to stay. "You will experience the same with the hour hits twelve."

"You don't have to keep calling me young man, Neville will do." Neville shuffled along beside him, sticking his hand in his pocket to grasp at his now useless wand. "At midnight you mean?"

"Right. My apologies." Neah smiled sheepishly and nodded. "Correct. That is when the dark hour rolls around. Many leave and fight the shadows, but it is completely acceptable to stay inside the hotel during night time as well.

Which is where I am taking you right now."

"Hotel?" Neville stopped, pulling his hands from his pockets and opening his palms. "I'm afraid I don't have much money on me. I don't think the currency is the same in America anyway."

"There is no need for money, actually. The hotel I am taking you to does not require any payments."

"What hotel doesn't make you pay?" Sounds fishy man.

[fourteenthscion]

"Bayview Hotel." He stopped and pointed to the larger building in between two other buildings adjacent to them. "I do not know why money is needed, but I will not complain."

"That's kind of suspicious, isn't it?" Neville stepped back. "People getting brought here and there being a free place to stay."

Glancing back at the younger man, Neah sighed in place of a laugh. It's true -- It was suspicious. It was ridiculously suspicious for that matter.

"It is suspicious, yes." He smiled sheepishly. "I do not think many question it though."

"I would be. Am." He sighed as well, glancing over to Neah. "But I'm guessing it's the best we got. At least without this world's money."
