Well, this was a production to say the least. The drinks were more than taken care of (Rider kept her supplies well stocked at all times), the food was all set, and all there was left to do was set up this infernal game contraption. Rider still wasn't entirely sure what a Mario Kart was, but it looked fun.

Once the game was actually set up (eventually), it was going to be a hell of a night. Hopefully with no fistfights breaking out or blood feuds declared over who used what blue shell and when. It happens, man. I've seen things.

Kaoru wandered into the party. The last time she'd been here... well, the last time she'd been here, she'd drifted around, inspected the food, and talked to people. She leaned against a pillar and her eyes moved around. There were the food tables where she and Vriska had boggled at the human food, the entrance where she'd rolled her eyes at Kayneth telling her her mask was terrible, the dance floor where V/V had dragged her along to do some ridiculous dance, the piano John had been playing. She shook her head. She'd already decided that the ones responsible would be destroyed.

But first, there was this party. Rider had had some strange purpose for declaring it -- some sort of game? She walked over to the TV and inspected the machinery attached to it.

Asuka, on the other hand, has never been here before. Coming from approximately the same place with the same schedule as Kaoru (at the end of the school year, anyway), she stops in surprise a little at the aforementioned mansion of swag.

"When'd someone get enough money for this place here..."

Kaoru turned her head toward Asuka. "He's a captive," she shrugged with her perpetual lack of expression. "Not the only one with a house like this, either. It seems to matter to these people, but it's strange for one person to live in a house this size."

Pointless, the implication was, although at least she hadn't said it out loud this time.

"And I thought the King of Jerks was the only one who made money fast here," Asuka says, starting to wander around and look at the decor. "Maybe someone asked for cash from home."

Or maybe other people understand the concept of being paid for work.

"Maybe." Shrug. "You mean the one with the gold obsession, right?" She may have started using some people's names, but Gilgamesh was still not among that number.

Hiyono is avoiding the alcohol (high school student and all), and while she isn't exactly a huge fan of video games, she isn't half bad at Mario Kart.

Which is to say, she's totally That Person Who Keeps Hitting You With Items When You Least Expect It.

[Which very much disgruntles Snake, since he wasn't big on video games before and certainly isn't big on them now.]

[She's never quite getting first place, but she's certainly never in last, either. It's still not really something she'd be big on, but it's definitely amusing to play in a group.]

[April has managed to somehow take control of the wii and is playing some Fatal Frame. She seems to be concentrating pretty hard on it, even if she does seem to be on edge.]

But she assumes it's just the game messing with her, so she takes no notice of it.]

[Not the biggest fan of video games, Snake is just standing in the corner with a beer in hand. Of course, being the man that he is, he twists the cap off with his hand instead of having to use a bottle opener. Because he's that. damn. good. Surveying the party attendants, the lonely ex-soldier just heaves a gruff sigh and takes a swig from the bottle.]

A.[Why yes, Saori actually brought a gamecube controller with her. She karts it old school and anyone who's got a problem with that is gonna have to beat her.]

B. [Another party staple: Smash Brothers Melee. Though at this point she might be a bit tipsy but still willing to play if anyone challenges her.]

[There's just something about a sparkly-ass princess disguising herself like a dude and kicking seven shades of ass that just speaks to her somehow.]

[Yeah heard that right. Nothing messing around with people by tossing bacon/sausage/whatever the heck that is and throwing their attacks back with a bucket.]

[Cue one excited witch making her entrance. No way is she missing a party, especially one with games included. She'll have brought a bunch of sugary snacks with her to balance out the mass amounts of alcohol, but they will be abandoned when she sees all the fun things being controlled on-screen. She'd heard of these video games, she'd just never gotten to play with one first hand.]
