Caliban Run

WHY: Saori was a weirdo and wanted to go to Caliban for her birthday.

[A few days ago, Saori sent out a mass text to everyone:

"I'm going to Caliban on the 15th. If anyone wants to come along, please come to the tea house at 11:30. I'll provide a small meal afterwards."]

[Saori was feeling rather restless when dealing with the shadows lately. Not to mention it had been some time since they did a run through that mysterious dungeon. Also, though she wasn't going to admit it, it was her birthday. She wasn't the sort to expect gifts and such. She was much more comfortable giving to others instead.]

[It's already 11:30pm and she just waits for people to arrive in the attic base.]

Group 1

[Group 1 will consist of people who are still low leveled or haven't received their Personae yet. There are a few "chaperones" around in case something big comes up.]

[Group 2 is mostly made up of the seasoned veterans or people who managed to sneak away from Group 1. They can delve deeper into Caliban for any clues, treasures, etc.]

[So you made it out alive. Time for that small meal Saori promised. Okay sukiyaki hotpot might be off-season, but how could you resist.]

*Margulis was prompt, likely unsurprisingly to Saori. He wasn't wearing any fancy extra armor, but his new sword was fastened securely at his side. He nodded in acknowledgement when he saw Saori and crossed his arms to wait.*

[Gaignun is fairly prompt, a minute or two late because he had to get some last minute supplies.]

I wonder who's going to come tonight.

I would hope so. Poor Saori shouldn't have to put up with us all on her own.

And I would rather have more than one reliable ally at my side in such an unpredictable and unfamiliar situation, regardless.

*A comment about his lack of trust for Gaignun? An insult toward the URTV's skills on the battlefield relative to his? Both? Yeah, probably both.*

Margulis had made a good point about him needing to be ready for a fight in case things took a turn for the worse again, after all -- not to mention, there might be clues far deeper in Caliban than the prosecutor could currently safely venture. As such, Edgeworth is not simply present, but clad in his stiff burgundy trenchcoat, bulletproof vest, and the rest of his combat gear, with his glaive strapped across his back.]

Ah, hello there Edgeworth. [Thank goodness, someone who doesn't have an axe to bear. Still, he's a little surprised to see the man here. Gaignun didn't think that excursions like this would interest him.

And yes, Margulis? He is ignoring you, hoping that the implications that you're beneath his notice get to you.]

I'm not certain that 'rivalry' is the correct term to be applied here, but nevertheless, it is a relief to see that Ms. Nakagawa won't be the only tolerable person present for this excursion.

[Saori looked up when she heard the sound of the stairs descending. She sat on one of the couches. Her forearms and hands were covered in handwraps like a boxer. Even though she was used to fighting hand to hand combat, she still carried her sword as back up.]

Oh, good evening, Margulis. Thank you for coming. So, how have you been?

Surprisingly well, all things considered. I've yet to find a place of employment actually suited to my skills and temperament, but I have what's most important for the time being.

*Yes, he is talking about his new sword. He has priorities, okay?*

Looking to improve upon your ability to handle violent situations under safety in numbers, I presume?

[Hiyono is right on time with a backpack of stuff she prepared for the trip! So basically, a medical kit and a high quality stun gun for a last resort. She's got a gun with her as well, but that's not in the backpack for safety's sake.]

This will be my first time going in. I'll do my best to be helpful!

Precisely. Aside from the fact that my own safety is far from guaranteed in our situation to begin with, I'm ill-equipped to investigate dangerous places as I am. To gain some basic combat experience here -- (under less disturbing circumstances than those of severa months ago, I hope) -- would allow me to make progress towards resolving both of these problems.

I suppose this is a good way to do this. The only way to get combat experience is to basically bootstrap yourself up.

There is worse company to do it in too.

Just be careful. Enclosed quarters provide a limited area to retreat to if you find yourself at a disadvantage. I hope you've at least had some experience fighting in open space before coming here.

This is, at least, not the first time I've fought outside of a training situation. In any case, I primarily intend to stay in the back line; I can only barely handle my weapon, and Forneus's primary use is to gauge the strength of and pinpoint any weaknesses of Shadows.

Which should be of some help. With creatures like these you can not just go all in, guns blazing.

It should be of particular use in picking battles with trainees in mind.

Indeed, though there's no guarantee that a stronger enemy won't notice us and give chase regardless.
