Who: Allen Ridgeley and Shion Uzuki (
uzuki)
What: Shion's first Dark Hour...and some unfortunate mishaps with out of control powers.
When: Starting about fifteen minutes before Dark Hour.
Where: Shion's room, then the area around the hotel.
Warnings: Violence against Shadows, probably some mild swearing and Shion.
As Allen had promised, he arrived at the door to Shion's room about fifteen minutes before Dark Hour. He had his Ether crossbow slung over one shoulder, though his gun and his normal crossbow also hung at his sides just in case and he had a full case of bolts and a spare clip of bullets tucked away for them. It was an image somewhat at odds with the usually quiet and seemingly harmless man, but he didn't seem to consider it anything out of the ordinary.
In fact, the only thing that really bothered him was where he was standing. His conversation with Shion earlier that day had been...taxing. But he'd made a promise, so he let out a faint sigh and raised his hand to knock firmly but briefly on the door.
"Here goes something..."

"Oh Allen, just a minute..."
She moved over to the desk and gathered her console, which had been working on, and her Propero-issue phone. She had been looking at the network with the phone, and hadn't liked what she'd seen. But at least she was somewhat more willing to believe Allen. She had never really thought he was purposefully deceiving her, but that maybe he had just misunderstood the situation.
But, she was starting to see that she had been wrong. Not that she would apologize or anything, but at least she's not challenging Allen for the time being. She stepped out of her room, and shut the door, then turned to him, awaiting information.

He turned and started toward the elevator, shifting his crossbow slightly on his shoulder. Its weight was familiar, but at the same time odd. He'd used it before enough to get comfortable with it, but he hadn't had it until his abilities had started coming back.
But he didn't comment on that as he hit the button to call the elevator.
"Especially since my Persona only has physical attacks and I can only use Beam Bolt so many times before I get worn out."

It wasn't that she wasn't listening, it was just that it was becoming reality. Every step she took cemented the fact that she was so far from setting things right. So far from changing her past... Everyone's pasts.
She didn't want a Persona, or Shadows. She wanted to go home.

The elevator door opened and he stepped in, swinging his crossbow down to rest on one of the arm rails along the walls. His other hand hung at his side, almost reflexively checking to make sure his gun was still there.
It was strange, when he thought about it. When he'd arrived here, he'd only been on the battlefield a few times and it had always felt surreal. Now it was just another night, and the habits surrounding it seemed normal. He tried not to think about it.

"Allen... Earlier today, you said we came from different points in time, right?"
no subject
But he glanced over at her as the elevator started moving, giving her a puzzled look at the question.
"Yeah. What about it?"
no subject
She had avoided his gaze until having asked that. She looked over at him, trying to seem impassive. But really, she was starting to worry that he was telling the truth, and that she had somehow made things worse with her actions on Miltia.

The elevator opened on the lobby and Allen stepped out, shouldering his crossbow again.
"The two of us, Jr., Mary and Shelley had left with the Elsa crew on a mission to find Lost Jerusalem."
no subject
Shion followed him, now more interested in hearing the future than seeing this Dark Hour.
"And why only us? What about everyone else?"
no subject
He couldn't look directly at her when he brought up the last three. He didn't want to think that they were dead, but he'd seen how many Gnosis there were. It was hard not to worry.
"We don't know what happened to them after that."
no subject
"Wait... What? Planetary disappearances? And we just left them behind so they could come... Here?"
no subject
"Yeah, by the time we left the hypersphere, planets were disappearing all over the place. But whatever chaos did stopped it at least temporarily. And it's probably not going to affect us here, since this seems to be a completely different universe."
no subject
"And the Testaments?"
She had to know what happened to Kevin... Even though she didn't think it had been anything good, since Allen hadn't mentioned Kevin's name yet.
no subject
This was part he personally hated thinking about. Even after this long, the image of Shion's torture still felt fresh in his mind.
"He turned on the creator of the Testaments at the last minute, to stop him from trying to torture you into going along with their plans. They both disappeared after that."
no subject
So without a response, Shion started forward again. She flung open the lobby doors and headed outside.
no subject
"I know, it's not exactly a dream ending. But it could have been a lot worse."
no subject
"Is there anything else I should know about these before we start?"

Dark Hour finally hit, casting an eerie, discolored light over the town as the civilians in the street transformed into coffins. In response, Allen shifted his crossbow again and the tip lit up as he fed Ether energy into it. At the same time, he narrowed his eyes slightly in focus.
"Hadraniel!"
In the blink of an eye, his Persona answered his call and a dark haired, tan skinned angel appeared in front of him. His wings constantly dropped feathers, which Allen ignored.

There wasn't much time for that though, as she noticed some movement out of the corner of her eye. She turned and watched the pair of Shadows as they came closer. She moved into a ready stance and waited for Allen's assessment.

"These ones shouldn't be a pro-urk!"
He winced as a strange but distinctly familiar feeling washed over him. It felt the same as when he was trying to separate his consciousness from his body. But he hadn't tried to do that, and this struggle to keep his consciousness where it belonged was entirely new.
His aim faltered as his focus shifted entirely to staying awake, one hand even leaving his crossbow to rub at his face.
"What the-"
Before he could finish his sentence, his concentration proved itself to be not enough and he collapsed to the ground, seemingly unconscious despite Hadraniel staying in place.

She glanced over and
what the Hell Allen, you got knocked out already?saw him in a heap on the ground. She started to head over to see what was wrong, but remembered the Shadows that were approaching."Sorry Allen..."
She decided to take care of the oncoming monsters first. She rushed forward and bashed into the first one, knocking it back, then turned to deliver a kick to the second. She hopped back, closer to Allen, to make sure he was still breathing. When she saw that he was, she turned back to the Shadows, to see how effective she'd been at fighting them off.

Interesting, but now to the task at hand. With the Shadows dealt with, Shion stooped and took Allen's arm and placed it around her shoulders. She managed to get him into a sitting position, and from there, a few inches off the ground, before she realized it wasn't going to happen.
Allen's weight alone may have been impossible for her to carry back to hotel, but adding in his weapons and ammo cinched it. She lowered herself next to him, trying to think of another way to move him.

It didn't take long for the two of them to transport Allen, as it seemed the Persona was doing most of the work, and when they arrived back at her door, she worked quickly to unlock the door and guide Allen to the bed, where she and Hadraniel deposited him.
After that, she wasn't entirely sure what to do. She couldn't read vital signs past respiratory rate and pulse without the technology she was used to, and she doubted there were doctors available during the dark hour.
So she pulled the desk chair closer and sat.
