Teamwork, the Asuka Langley Soryu Way!
WHO: Asuka and Ishtar, anyone who cares to run into them.
WHEN: August 8, Dark Hour
WHERE: The streets of Prospero, maybe heading to explore the dungeon
SUMMARY: Asuka tries out having ameatshield teammate lackey to improve her Shadow-killing performance. Ishtar gets XP, I guess.
RATING: PG-13 for violence
As soon as the clock strikes midnight, Asuka and her new friend are ready to go. Well, Asuka is, and she thinks that Ishtar had better be. Asuka has never worked on a team before - after all, she's been told the point of the production-type Eva was to replace those two ugly things in Japan, not work with them - and she doesn't particularly care to share the glory, but the fact is that fighting with a Persona is tiring. If she wants to make a dent in the population of horrible monsters, she's going to need an extra body to get the most out of this extra hour of night-time, and she had the social initiative over the other girl, meaning her assistance is acceptable.
Plus, if nothing else, she'd have an audience for her awesomeness.
"You ready, Ishtar?" Asuka asks, a little impatient, but a lot more anticipatory of fighting these monsters again. She's got no real plan or tactics in mind right now beyond 'go forth and smash', though she's eying that strange building in the business district as well. It's going to be a bad night for someone. Hopefully, it was the Shadows.

She's probably one of those hardcore fighters or something. She really did hope it would go well. She somewhat nodded her head when she heard Asuka's voice, "Yeah...I think this should be okay," though it wasn't a good idea to stray form Allen or Tatsuma but she didn't want to burden the two of them forever...and and stuff like that.

"Let's go, then!" she says, gesturing out of the hotel with her store-bought hatchet. Other than that, she didn't seem terrible prepared for combat aside from wearing flats - she'd only shown up here with casual clothes, and it's not like she'd wear her plugsuit even if it had appeared with her. Too impractical for non-submerged fights and not even a little armored. She'll have to save up for a bulletproof vest or something...
Asuka leads the way out into the creepy night. "So tonight, we're gonna head for that thing," she says, gesturing again in the general direction of the business district and the (purported) weird building there.
no subject
"Ah...okay," she replied nodding her head as she followed closely behind the lighter haired girl. Ishtar wasn't much better. She had normal moveable clothes on and sneakers to save her from breaking her leg on something else otherwise. Ishtar needed a bullet proof vest too.
"That sounds fine," she mused looking at the business district direction. Yeah that strange weird building that she has a cold feeling about. The girl would just follow for now.

The girl in front pauses, sneers, and takes a fighting stance with her axe. "Why the hell are there monsters shaped like tables?" she wonders aloud, and loudly.
no subject
"Er......I wouldn't know. They look weird," she replied staring at them still. Ishtar pulled out her sword, "You better protect me. I don't want to get screwed," she muttered mostly to her sword and her Persona. Yes, she had the tendency to talk to her sword since she had a magical one that somewhat understood her even though it never spoke. That's what happens when you have swords crafted from souls.
no subject
"You've got nothing to worry about! Charge!"
Instructions completed to her own standards, Asuka runs forward herself, smashing her axe down into the nearest Table with a satisfying - if not very wood-like - thunk, and putting her foot into the Shadow's 'face' to help her pull it out again. That'll show this whatever it is, even if it is still standing. And angrily trying to fry Asuka with a fire skill.
no subject
"Right," she nodded her head as she runs after Asuka making a quick move to call the Persona first, "BASH!" she shouted as she called upon the attack to help out Asuka since the Shadow was trying to get Asuka with a fire spell.
Hopefully it works out.

Asuka's a little annoyed at Ishtar getting a killing blow, but then again, there's no one around to count her kills anyway. Besides, she softened it up. She channels her annoyance and the slight pain of the heat-based attack into a summoning of her Persona.
"Brünnhilde!" she shouts, bringing forth the fiery Valkyrie to skewer one of the remaining tables, which the image does with gusto, collapsing another one of the monsters in a lucky shot, leaving only one Table remaining in this group. "Got you!"
no subject
She didn't want to do a killing blow. She was just trying to protect Asuka if anything. She didn't want anyone to get hurt. After all this was probably all she could really do at the moment. Ishtar watched as the Persona take the next attack and it was astonishing to say. She was surprised, "Nice!" she chimed. Ishtar moved after the attack to get a quick slash at the thing. She needed work on it but it was enough to suffice against weak Shadow things.

In reality, no one is probably paying attention, and Asuka leaves her narcissism aside for long enough to focus on the remaining, injured Shadow. Watching it rear up and focus on an attack towards Ishtar (who the hell taught her how to use a sword? Asuka hadn't even done motion practice with a sword and she was sure she could do better than that), Asuka yells wordlessly and charges its flank, smashing down with an axe. With one of the odd, un-animal cries that Shadows make, the Table splits and dissolves into mist, leaving the two girls alone for now.

Ishtar slashed another one. Not too well but it did the job. That was all that mattered. Ishtar closed her eyes when she heard the axe smashing down on the damn thing. Ishtar just sighs running a hand through her hair. God, she seriously needed someone to train her properly. If she didn't get good training this was going to be a nightmare.
"Jeez they're tougher than they look, like those zombies from home," she sighed. She pulled her sword back and sheathed it, "Uh... thanks for saving my butt there."
no subject
"And thanks for not doing anything too stupid," she adds more quietly, lowering her axe. Maybe she should get a belt loop or something, carrying this might start getting old. "Just try to get a better idea what you're doing with that sword. I'd help, but we're busy right now," Asuka explains. That, and she'd left her reality before the E-Mag sword for the Evas was built, let alone had any motion data training routines developed and sent to the pilots. She wouldn't handle a sword any better than this chick.
"Anyway, let's head to the weird building," she says, breath caught and already strolling down the street with the same confidence as before, feeling - as she usually does before and between fights - forty meters tall.
no subject
"Sorry, I still got a lot to learn huh?" she replied with weak smile knowing that the bright haired girl was right. Ishtar was far from being a good fighter as this girl, "Ah..yeah I just need some more practice and stuff," she replied with a small laugh thinking about silly she was swinging it but she doesn't know that Asuka can't handle swords any better than she does but probably still better than Ishtar.
"Kay, let's go before it gets too crowded with those Shadow things," she replied with a nod of her head.

"I have to have the knowledge and muscle memory to fight with a variety of weapons. It's part of my job as an Evangelion pilot, you know," she explains, hoping to inspire wonder and curiosity in the other girl...if she hadn't paid attention to her phone messages about all of that, anyway.
The pair are uninterrupted going into the sprawling business district. "Man, this place looks like even more of a hole now," Asuka comments about the abandoned buildings. "At least there's not as many coffins..."
no subject
"What's an Evangelion pilot?" she mused looking at the girl, "Well you seem to know things better than I do about fighting so I don't doubt you," she replied grinning. She did get Ishtar curious of course. She had never heard of that term before much less what they do so now she wants to know just a little. It was also a good way to learn about friends and stuff.
Ishtar continues to follow her after a few words silently as she looked around for anymore of those creepy things, "Yeah... doesn't it?" she replied giving a nervous look, "Those coffins seriously still bother me," she muttered under her breath. Freaky was all she was going to say about that one.

"I was raised to be the ultimate pilot for these machines," she says, ignoring the other chick and the new guy - this is her story, and she hadn't met either of them anyway. "And my Eva is the ultimate weapon of mankind. It's a huge responsibility...but it's also why I know how to fight and use a Persona already. I was trained with the muscle memory to get my Eva to use a knife or axe or spear, and summoning a Persona's really just like forming an AT field..."
By the time Asuka shuts up, the duo has gone deep into the Business District. Asuka spots what she thinks is the 'dungeon' that King of Jerks mentioned, although it's not much of a tower to her. More of a really especially creepy warehouse, and when she stops to look, she notices periodic small clusters of Shadows roaming out of it.
"I think we found the bad guy headquarters..." she says, sensibly quiet for the first time tonight.
no subject
Yes they were so far into the Business District at this point that she wasn't even aware that they might be exposed to danger. Ishtar stopped halfway as she noticed that Asuka saw something. It seemed like a good point to stop, "Ah...wow, I didn't expect your story to be that out there. That sounds like some crazy stuff that you had to deal with. I can't believe what I'm hearing really," she replied giving a nervous laugh before she looked in the same direction.
"Yeah... I think you got a point there," she replied grinning almost. Ishtar glanced at the place. IT gave her chills still. Entering and leaving that place...
no subject
"Have you been here before?" Asuka asks. She surmises this might have been the former home of the big Shadow Ryuunosuke had mentioned when they met, even as she studies the entrances to try and see a pattern to the Shadows emerging. They could take one group, but two or more of those little squads might be trying.
no subject
"Ah...yes. I've been here before with Allen and Hiyuu..." she replied with a nod. She remembered some of her teammates at least the ones that are always with her. She has such bad memory but Allen and Hiyuu were kind people always protecting her. Ishtar was nervous about taking groups of them on since her combatant skills were really bad. She might have to continuously use her Persona but that would tire her out too. Either way she was just not ready for this yet. She will deal with it though.
no subject
"You know what, don't worry about it, there's an opening now. Let's get inside," Asuka says, instinct trumping planning out of boredom as much as sensing a gap in the pattern of Shadows. She charges ahead, thankfully remembering to keep quiet and axe-low, ready to swing at whatever was waiting beyond the doorway.
no subject
She would feel bad if she didn't hold up her half of the weight.
"Okay," she replied still not so sure but following the girl regardless. Going in there shouldn't be too problematic. She'll find her way through it with Asuka's help. At least that's what she's telling herself at the moment.
no subject
"This doesn't look much like a wareh-"
And she's instantly smacked by a Shadow in the shape of an Idol that she wasn't paying attention to, knocking her to the ground and causing a practically feral growl of annoyance.
no subject
"....You might not want to say it like--- ASUKA!" Ishtar replied surprised when the thing came out of nowhere.
"BASH" not going to wait for anything to happen. She's going to make sure to knock that thing backwards with Hariti. She's not really in the mood either but still.
