WHO: Ryuunosuke Uryuu and anybody else~
WHEN: Dark Hour, Aug. 14.
WHERE: the city streets
SUMMARY: After a month in Prospero, Ryuunosuke gets his Persona at last.
RATING: PG-13-R for language, violence that ends in death, and thinking about murder, possibly higher if Ryuunosuke decides to be even more of a creep.
WARNINGS: Ryuunosuke is a serial killer and will be thinking about this, possibly at length. There is a battle between player characters.
He was careless because he was frustrated.
Sure, he'd met a few cool people lately, and that had been fun! He wasn't even the only person killing now, and it was great to watch people die without having to do any of the work himself, but...
He liked being the best - well, no, that wasn't it. He liked being creative. He put effort into killing people. He wasn't just a thug, he did things with artistry. Especially lately, after he summoned Caster, but even before that, he prepared for everyone he killed and suited it to what he knew of them.
And now - what had he done? Killed two people in the same way, simple stab wounds. Anyone could do that, the Joker had done that within twenty-four hours of showing up when it had taken Ryuunosuke a whole month to get this far. Was that all he was good for now? He'd gone from turning people into real art down to the very basics of just making them stop moving? That was all? If he had one of those Personas, he could try killing in ways he never could before, but he didn't have one of those either.
Since he was thinking about this as he killed Shadows (disappointing, they could barely be said to die at all they were so boring), it wasn't too much of a surprise that he got into a bad place. One of the creatures leaped at him, and instead of skewering itself on Ryuunosuke's knife it knocked it out of his hands out of reach.
Why had he ended up with his back against the wall? Stupid. He scrambled madly for anything in reach to defend himself with. He didn't fear death and knew perfectly well that his own blood had a beautiful crimson color, but he was still looking for something even more enrapturing. He wouldn't find it if he died again, and he needed to be armed if he wanted to live.
Shit. Nothing. He was going to have to do this bare-handed until he could get at his knife again. Geeze, this was annoying. He'd have been a disappointment to that guy if he saw him like this, reduced to killing in only the most basic of ways, worried about just making it through the next few minutes-
Something unbelievably cool happened.
The Shadow that had been about to pounce upon him was suddenly lifted. It struggled in vain as something like an elephant, but armored and on two legs, held it by the throat. It had only a moment to struggle before the creature snapped its neck.
"Thou art I, and I am thou. I am Vetala, and your desires shall be my desires." His Persona's imposing features disappeared.
"That..." Ryuunosuke took a steadying breath. The other Shadows in the area had fled at Vetala's appearance. "That's seriously a demon I called... This is so awesome!"
Grinning like a kid in a candy store, Ryuunosuke felt around for his knife, then started to search the city for every last Shadow he could test out his new power on. Persona, demon, who cared what he called it? It was his, and he wouldn't have to be bored again for a long time.
[Ryuunosuke will be running around the whole city testing out Vetala, so feel free to encounter him anywhere, or to witness this event!]

Might as well test this out. "Vetala!"
Oh hey, you could summon these things behind the people you were fighting (not like there was any room between them)? That was awesome. Ryuunosuke directed his demon to smash its weapon - he was really going to have to get a better look at it, all he knew at a glance was that it looked heavy - into Lancer while he focused on not getting his face smashed in himself.

It was only through the grace of Lancer's carefully trained instincts that he managed to jump out of Vetala's range, putting some distance between himself and the Master-turned-Persona-user.
If that was how Ryuunosuke intended this to go...well, Lancer would really have no choice. He'd avoided trying to call his Persona since that first night mainly because the assistance of that knight was not something Diarmuid would have requested lightly. That, and until recently he hadn't been certain it wasn't all a hallucination--now that he knew better, Lancer knew what he had to do here.
Please, I ask of you-- His thoughts were focused inwardly, though his eyes were trained on Ryuunosuke for any sign of an attack. --lend me just a little of your strength, Prince of Light. Lancer still didn't understand what magecraft could cause this. And he didn't care; fighting alongside or against Ulster's hound was like living a dream.
"CĂș Chulainn--!"

Lancer would have been amazed if he wasn't in the middle of combat; this was truly a fascinating sight. When his focus was less on survival, the former Servant would most likely take a moment or two to be completely awed by the fact that such an honorable legend was so ready to answer his call.

It was less sweet to get hit in the arm with a lance. Thankfully it wasn't the arm that held his knife, but still it made him stagger backwards.
Attack the mystical demon-hero-whatever-it-was that showed up out of nowhere with just a knife? ...Nah, he'd just attack Lancer if he could get past his guardian. If Vetala distracted him/it, then - Vetala turned his assault on Cu Chutrain or whoever, and Ryuunosuke hoped it would keep doing that even while he dashed at Lancer.

Ryuunosuke, on the other hand, would be getting another pipe directed at his legs to knock him down.

Ow, pipe to the legs. Ryuunosuke was kind of okay with getting somewhat knocked down for a second if it meant he could still stab-
"Normal people don't wear armor, godammit this is unfair!"
Stiiill getting used to this fighting business. It was safe to say that he wasn't doing as much damage as he wanted to.

"I'd say we're as evenly matched as we're going to get-!" Lancer swung again, scowling.

If Vetala came over to attack Lancer, that should at least give Ryuunosuke enough time to recover and get into a better position before Cu Chulainn caught up with him. Without even glancing at his Persona (mental connection, that was still cool, he was finding out lots of cool things) Ryuunosuke directed him to do that - maybe he'd catch Lancer by surprise or something.

He dodged Vetala's attack a second time, and with little more than a thought Cu Chulainn was on Ryuunosuke in a flash with a counterattack of his own.

He hadn't really intended to get distracted, who did? He just was fascinated as usual with the vivid color of his blood, and a glance turned into staring. It hadn't lost any of its beauty from the last time he'd seen it spreading in a growing pool.
Vetala paused and then disappeared entirely, as its master no longer was paying any mind to keeping it around or such minor concerns as someone wanting to kill him.

He almost wanted to call Ryuunosuke's attention back to the fight so they could finish it fairly, but...in a human body with such slow reflexes, it was too much of a risk. Lancer had to finish this now in order to eliminate the danger he posed to anyone else.
Gold eyes darted to the knight in flawless armor, and without a word the lance flashed at Ryuunosuke twice more.

"-That was fun. Thanks."
Why would he have anything against his killer? He hadn't going into this. With a bright smile, he let his eyes shut and went still.
