He would find them all with mighty vengeance.
Who: Gilgamesh & you!
Where: Streets of Prospero
When: Tonight's dark hour.
What: Gilgamesh decides to extend his search for V/V into the dark hour. The results aren't pretty.
Rating: PG-13, possibly R.
Warnings: Probably lots of violence, blood, screaming of the explicative nature, and general drama.
Status: Open to all~
He wasn't entirely sure why he was still looking for her at this point. Several people, including himself, had spent the better part of the day searching for the missing angel. They found nothing. But he couldn't leave it at that. There was something wrong with this, and he could feel. She had to be somewhere on this damned island, and he was going to find her. And of course, he did find her. But he was starting to wish he hadn't.
It was a lump. A lump that he knew was the former angel. Her body was cold and lifeless, and looked as if she had been discarded as a rag doll. Upon closer inspection, it was obvious what had killed her. It wasn't any of these damned shadows. Someone on this island had strangled her to death. But who? Why? V/V wasn't like the rest of these mongrels. She had not a shed of impurity within her being. He couldn't even think of anyone that would do such a thing.
He's experienced the death of close friends before. This should be nothing new, right? But it was wrong. All wrong. Memories of his own best friend's death came flashing back before his very eyes, and he let out a yell that could very well wake the coffined people from their sleep. At that moment, a voice spoke inside his head.
Son of the Gods.
Do you wish to protect those who have yet to be tainted by this corrupt world?
Call upon me. With my winds, I will carry you to victory.
"Pazuzu... The God of the Southwest Wind. Come forth and help me defeat the cowards that would dare to lay a hand on those who can not defend themselves. PERSONA!"
A sudden gust of wind rips through the alleyway, sending various objects flying into the streets. Shadows that happen to wander into the alley are just as quickly repelled by more bursts of wind, and then quickly sliced apart by a certain king. But he doesn't stop there. He roams the streets, seeking out any Shadow that would dare advance towards him. You may very well run into him killing off hordes of shadows at a time, a certain winged lionman flying behind him and assisting with the attacks. Will you stare in awe or join him? The choice is yours.

"Dodge, you idiot!"

He works his way towards Gilgamesh, unwilling to leave someone alone in this mess.

"If you want to some of these abominations for yourself, be my guest. Just don't get in my way again."
no subject
"Are you going to be all right?"
no subject
"I'm the King of Heroes. If I couldn't take these beasts, I would be in sad shape."
And off he goes to gather more Shadows. Yes, he's actually herding them into the alley way just so he can kill them off in a nearly continuous rush.

With a determined look on his face, Ryu follows, recognizing the tactic and killing the strays who are hanging back.

[ Her mind comprehends the danger, but she finds that she's a bit too slow against something inhuman as a Persona, the girl becoming quite acquainted with the wall. Well, that only serves to further concern her as she pushes away from it. ]
Gilgamesh! [ Her voice may be drowned out by the overbearing wind whistling around in the area though. ] Stop this at once!

"Do not get in my way, woman. This has nothing to do with you. Return home."
no subject
[ It isn't often she feels a chill down her spine, but that glare does it, leaving her to shiver in place briefly. Unfortunately for both of them, Saber's a stubborn and deplorable woman.
Which means she's not going to just walk away while Goldie throws a childish fit. ]
It is you who needs to return home! Now come with me or else you force my hand in making you come!

That produced a rather hideous laugh. It was clear that his grief and anger had gotten the best of him already. It would probably be impossible to knock any sense into him at this point.
And yet, his attention is solely focused on her. Because she may as well become his next target for getting in his way.
"I'm not going to stop until my body gives in. And even then, not until I find the bastard that crushed the angel's throat."
no subject
Yet, she cannot accept the danger she's in. No, she has this man before her, this man she's gotten to know throughout her stay here. For some reason unknown even to her, he was someone she couldn't leave alone.
It was to watch over him, she insists.
To make sure he doesn't cause any trouble, that's all it was.
It had nothing to do with how magnificent he looked or how for the first time since his arrival, she truly felt intimidated by him. No, it was nothing to do with the fact that she must always stand up against him, because there's no other way he would ever look at her. Subservient and submissive? Impossible, for that will be when he loses his fascination with her and the last thing she wants right now is for that to occur. ]
I refuse.

This Shadow he's fighting is almost dealt with, when a burst of wind deals the final blow.
no subject
"Come, come! Do you not think I can handle all of you pathetic worms? Now you shall cower before the true power of a king!"
no subject
...well, we know.
Shock is the first thing he feels. As well as the urge to go up to her. But the strong wind attacks from that guy's Persona block his way.
no subject
"If you wish to keep all your limbs, you will not travel any further into this alleyway. I will take care of her body after I'm finished with these things."
And as if right on cue, another group of shadows rush into the alleyway, prompting Gilgamesh to go all out chopping at any without physical resistance while the rest get Garu'd away.

So for now he calls forth Orpheus to hit the Shadows apparently immune to Garu attacks with Agi.

Once that's over with, Orpheus disappears, and he's left alone. With no one but the broken angel... Somehow, the ache in Minato's hand from gripping the sword too tight doesn't feel so bad. His heart though...that's another issue.
He almost turns way, wants to even. But he remains standing, unable to stop looking.

Certainly she'd find him, near to exhausted and fighting off the last of what might have been a horde of shadows. As it perished, she rushed to his side, catching his arm.
"Gilgamesh. What is all this? What are you doing? I thought you were going to find V/V."
no subject
The only thing supporting him at the moment was the very sword he fought with. His breathing had grown short but heavy, his clothes that had be in perfect condition were nearly in shreds, and there were multiple cuts and gashes upon his body which one could only guess came from the shadow's claws. He wouldn't die from them, but he obviously needed rest. She may have gave him a little support, but it didn't change things too much. He could barely even lift his head to meet her gaze.
"...She's dead, Beatrice. Strangled to thrown aside like some rag doll. I... I lost it. I wanted to find the bastard responsible, but this is as far as I got."
Of course, when has anyone known Gilgamesh to give up? He didn't have the strength to throw his sword again, but Pazuzu was sure to make quick work of the last few shadows with a bash or two.
no subject
She blinked the tears away almost as quickly as they came and tried hard to focus on the task at hand. She had to get him out of there while he still had the strength to carry himself. She feared if he went unconscious, she'd never be able to pull him out of the street.
"I understand. You did the best you could. No one could ask you for more. There will be other chances for vengeance. But you're not going to make me lose you as well, are you? Please, come home with me. Rest. We'll sort this out in the morning."
no subject
He wanted to do more. He needed to do more. But he had already pushed himself past the point his body could take. She was right. There was no point to continuing this. He needed rest. He could worry about looking for the culprit tomorrow.
"...I suppose you are right. I'm not sure if I can make it back to my condo in this condition, so your room may be the better choice. Just for the night."
That wouldn't be too bad, would it?
no subject
"Of course. I agree. I'm sure I saw a first aid kit there.
Jesus, Gilgamesh, don't you know when you're at your limit? You could have asked for help. If it's for V/V, you know I'd have stood beside you. I...I love her, too."
She'd have said more, but it wasn't her place. He was obviously hurting more from the loss than from his wounds. He was just more vocal about it. Normally, she'd be in an equal rage, but she needed someone to direct that rage to, and that person hadn't been decided yet.
no subject
"Ha... Do you think I really care about myself in that manner? I've already experienced the burden of death before. This is nothing. ...And how could you ever hope to fight these damnable creatures? You don't even know how to wield something as basic as a sword, do you? Nng. I suppose I'll... have to teach you."
And eventually they'll reach the hotel, taking the elevator to her floor since it would be silly to believe he could walk those stairs.
no subject
And maybe I can't defend myself so well now, but I was told at some point I would get one of those...things...to protect me."
A sigh.
"But, I'd like it if you could teach me. It's been years since I was a student, but I'm a quick study."
She'd awkwardly guide him into her room and let him rest on the bed. The first aid kit was right where she'd seen it last so she collected it and a washcloth and made her way back to him. It took her a good while to tend to him, stubborn as he was, but by the time she was done, he looked none the worse for wear.
no subject
"Heh. Sorry. I guess I am still a bit of a brat, aren't I?"
That was said with a rather weak smile, but it had to count for something. He would remain mostly silent until he was finally settled upon the bed and tended to. He didn't have the heart to tell her he would have been fine on his own. Besides, having a pretty woman worried over you and tending to your wounds? That was something to nice to indulge in, wasn't it? Ah, but then a thought occured.
"...Where are you going to sleep, Beatrice?"
no subject
"You are, but it can't be helped. It's not like I expected to change you. Love the man, get over his quirks, right?"
She saw to it that he was perfectly comfortable and she sat at the foot of the bed for a moment letting his question roll around in her head a bit. Her answer came with a deep blush.
"I could take the couch, I suppose...but I'd rather just sleep with you. I...mean beside you. I don't think I would take up enough room to bother these wounds, do you?"
no subject
"I suppose you are a bit wiser than I was willing to admit before. But I do not see a problem with that. So long as you aren't a restless sleeper, right?
But I think you've done a good job for now, haven't you? Join my side and we will call it a night."
no subject
You know, the way things are going, I'm a little afraid to sleep. Tomorrow might be an even bigger mess.
no subject
...I'm not going to lash out like that again. Not until I find the bastard responsible. Besides, you need rest as much as I do. You've tired yourself out just by letting your emotions get the better of you, haven't you? Sleep, and let your troubles melt away.
no subject
I'm glad. I can't go out to fetch you every night, you know.~ I am quite tired, though. It's been an odd series of events of late. I've never been one to be ruled by my emotions, but recently they've been displayed prominently on my sleeve.
I'm not sorry about that, though. Not when it comes to you, that is.
Before I lose the chance and sleep pulls me away...I have to tell you.
I...I love you.
no subject
Are you so sure about that? You do know my history, after all. Saying you love someone like me may even get you into some sort of trouble. Am I really worth that, Beatrice?
no subject
Someone with a past like mine has no fear of the words she speaks. Shall I lie to you to save myself?
I'd rather have the trouble. I'm used to it.
I mean to say, I don't care about your history; if you're a king or a peasant. Here and now, if you're mine that's all that matters.
no subject
Mm, I suppose that is rather admirable of you. You may yet have the makings to be my Queen, if you choose to be such. With a little more training, I...
[ And he nods off with his words trailing. Oops. ]
no subject
I would be your Queen. I think I'd like nothing more.
Goodnight.
