WHEN: June 4th, late afternoon.
WHERE: Behind Bayview Hotel.
SUMMARY: When he's not singing, he practices something else.

There were less people around on the late afternoon. So why there was a blue haired man alone behind the hotel? Perhaps this man was waiting for someone, or he's actually being all by himself. Kaito was standing in front of a tree, with a crowbar on his right hand. He seemed a bit hesitant to hit the tree as he grabbed tight on it.

Here goes with the first strike. Kaito swung up the crowbar to the air, and was about to hit the tree. However, he slowly lowered down the weapon and kept staring on the ground. He thought when he acted like that, he's going to kill someone. For long years, he's an idol robot that never programmed on how to fight. The creators feared if he's installed combat mode, destruction of the world will occur.

Kaito was going to try again. This time, he's not holding back. He held both hands on the crowbar and swung with his might on the tree. As it hit hard on the strong wood, the metal bounced and flung away from his grip. Kaito backed a bit, and glanced at the small bruises on his palms. It's so different to be human than a robot, he could feel the pain that he never used to be.

Maybe this was just his imagination, he didn't hear the crowbar hit on the ground. Kaito turned to his back, whether it landed on the grass instead.

"Boss?" Haruhi grinned from ear to ear. "I like the sound of that! I should implement that title in the brigade."

Haruhi shook her head at Kaito's weak effort. Could boys do nothing right? Itsuki was a rare exception to that expectation.

"Put some muscle into it! Think about your enemy. Picture someone you really dislike, and slam it down on their heads!"

"Of course! You're my boss after all." Whoever his leader is, he would address them politely, and Haruhi is one of them. Like his master. Kaito had a caring attitude, and obviously he's a polite person. Possibly, that's why he turns out to be so weak.

When he listened to her advice, he began to think what he really disliked of. Did he have enemies before? Nope. He's a lovably idiot and it's hardly to tell who his least favorite.

Now that clicked his mind. He narrowed his eyes as he turned to her. "I really hate... 'spices'."

"Spices?" Haruhi gave Kaito a weird look. "Okay, I have to ask: why spices? Did you get in a fight with a quesadilla or something?" Thinking about it, Haruhi wondered if singing robots needed to eat anyway...

Kaito shook his head. "Not really. I used to eat ice cream as my favorite dessert. However, spice is different story. I don't have immune system against it. A great amount of spice could cause me over heat, or you can call it as 'fever'. It's my greatest enemy ever, and I tried to avoid it all the time." He thought it sounded a bit silly, then he rubbed the back of his head.

Haruhi nodded. "Interesting. I had no ideas robots could get fevers." Kaito was such an interesting addition to the SOS Brigade! Robots were certainly rare, especially these robots-turned-humans.

"Alright, so think of that spicy food, and go wham!" She lifted her crowbar again for another demonstration. "Let's try together this time!"

Kaito turned back to the ground and took her advice. He began to focus on the ground and began to imagine the thing that he most hated. Slowly, his vision on the ground turned into something else, and it almost freaked him out. A pot of spicy pepper appeared on his vision. He couldn't say anything and he froze on the spot.

"There!" Haruhi slammed her crowbar down. "How'd you do, Kai-" She stopped, looking at the frozen Kaito. Waving a hand in front of his eyes, she called out "Hello in there~." Did his motherboard freeze up or something?

The pot was still there, still hunting him until Haruhi blocked his view. Probably he's too tired to snap back to reality. What he saw now was not Haruhi, but something else. A large size of red chili figure was trying to eat him alive.

"N-No! Don't eat me!" He swung his crowbar to hit the enemy, as he's not aware that his boss was standing in front of him.

It was a good thing that Haruhi had quick reflexes and that Kaito wasn't very good at fighting. She dived out the way in time, the crowbar only grazing her skin.

"Ouch!" Haruhi clamped her hand on her arm. It was only the edge of the crowbar, so it wasn't too bad, but she was going to have a nasty bruise for a few days.

With her other arm, she smacked Kaito on the face. "Snap out of it!!"

Kaito closed his eyes as he swung the crowbar, and it only ended up hitting on the ground. He was about to open his eyes again, and what he got in return was a hard blow on his face. He fell backwards and doubled on the ground before he turned to Haruhi.

His face was red, but it didn't compare with the bruise on Haruhi's arm. Realizing that, Kaito quickly prostrated in front of her and kept apologizing.

"Boss! I'm deeply sorry! I thought that-- No! It's my fault! I'm so sorry!" This was much more worse than stealing Meiko's favorite alcoholic drinks. He could only wait for his punishment.

Well, at least he was more apologetic than Kyon had ever been. Kaito may be a bit weird, but he was also very sincere. Closing her eyes, Haruhi took a deep breath before she spoke.

"Look Kaito, if you're gonna fight, you have to focus. Even if you're thinking of something else when you fight, you have to be aware of what's around you. Especially if you have your boss around!"

Frowning, she put a hand on his back. "Come on, don't grovel like that, it's embarrassing. But you're gonna treat me to lunch for a month in return."

Biting his lower lips, Kaito kept nodding on her advices, even though he's facing on the ground. He felt so guilty on what he did to his own boss. He swore himself if he did that again to his 'master', he would uninstall himself and never return to the world.

As Haruhi placed her hand on his back, he looked at her with teary eyes. "...You forgive me?" He did hear the part 'treating her lunch for a month', and it would be fair punishment. Looks like his daily meal will be just ice cream.

"Of course!" She really couldn't stay mad at Kaito for long. He was turning into a great mascot character for the brigade, like Mikuru was.

"Come on, let's go take a break and get some food. You can practice later, but uh, we'll make sure to have some distance between us, okay?"

"Thank you, boss!" Kaito expressed how happy he was, as he wiped the tears with his sleeve. "Don't worry, I'll become a very handy person in short time." He's really fast recovering, consider that he got child brain.

"Uh, it's my treat, isn't it?" He made a puzzle look, and obviously he needed to take a break.

"That's what I said, wasn't it?" With a grin, Haruhi hurried down the street.

"Er... Yeah." Kaito didn't finish his word as Haruhi off to the street. He just tag along with her, and his prediction told him, she'll up for the fast food. That's what teenagers wanted after all.
