forgive me, father, for I have sinned
Who: David and Beatrice
Where: Starts out on the streets, then moves on..!!
When: After Beatrice goes away from Gilgameshand right into David's arms.
What: David needs all the women as wives so you can bet he isn't satisfied with just one when he runs into another helpless woman.
Rating: WOW DAVID IS A GENTLEMAN MIND YOU.
[ David was doing.. fairly well, really, all things considered. This whole Valentine's Day thing was a new experience to him, but going out for the day with Asmodeus had been rather pleasant and flattering. Even though he's just wearing his lineface as usual when he walks down the streets of Prospero in his slightly more casual clothing, he's practically glowing on the inside, really.
Little does he know he is about to run into someone. ]

You have absolutely GOT to be shitting me.
Gilgamesh, what is the meaning of this interruption? I had thought you'd be long lost in the arms of your ice queen by now. And yet, here you are. What have I done to make you dislike me so? Have you not had your fill of wounding my foolish heart?

... And what would the exact meaning of this be? [ yup, keeping his cool still now, even though he's about to possibly be decked in the face.. ]
no subject
You know exactly what the meaning is. You wretch. You would dare steal the hand of another man's promised queen? As if you don't already have enough women as it is. I know your history, David. You've had more wives in your life time than I've swords in my treasury. But to sink so low as to steal her away from me. I will not forgive you. Prepare yourself and we shall do battle, mongrel.

Have you gone mad, Gilgamesh? David had nothing to do with this. You left me, if you'll recall, for Saber. Why are you not at her side? You said she needed you and I bowed out gracefully. I wasn't stolen, I walked away to save face.

As far as I know, she was not your 'promised queen'. She said she was tired of chasing someone who loves another. If you cannot treat a woman with the respect and love she deserves, someone else would have to stand in for that. [ Toootally ignoring those remarks about his past, you mad, bro? ]
But if it is truly a battle you require, then I shall not back down, for her honor's sake.

T'ch! What the hell is wrong with you? I was trying to find you to apologize, and I find you trying to get married to the King of Harems. When the fuck did I ever say anything about wanting to be with her in that way? I almost killed her. If I hadn't of went back to find her, she would have been dead and I would have been the most wanted man on this damned island! I have enough enemies as it is.
[ It was probably a good thing David did happen to step back up, because dwelling any longer on his confused as fuck feelings could have resulted in a much worse and regrettable outburst. Instead, he'll take a step back and ready himself for the apparent fight. ]
What would you even know of love? You're nothing but a fool who collects women as if they are some sort of treasure. You're no better than I am! [ ...Wait, why did he even admit that? Completely unsure, but with that, he's going to charge! ]

What's there to apologize for? You made your decision. As if that's so hard to believe. She LIVES with you. I know for a fact you love her no matter how she denies and rejects you. I had hoped...that I could perhaps show you a reciprocated love. But it wasn't enough. You injured her, yes, but have you no care for your own wounds? You'd have left your death bed to tend to her. You have no right to deny me a man who cares for me.
[She hadn't been aware of it, but sometime during the conversation, her eyes had flooded with tears. Whether out of sadness or frustration, she couldn't tell.]

But then he notices Beatrice out of a corner of his eye and.. no, he can't do this much, and he glances at Gilgamesh and gestures as if giving him a sign to stop. If he doesn't stop, then oh well, David will take one in the face if he has to in exchange for politeness. ]
Do you truly desire to fight while the woman you are fighting over is clearly upset? Let us at least handle that much first, as should be a man's duty.

But at the same time, these feelings for the witch had surfaced. He had no idea where they may have come from, but he accepted them. And you know why? Because it felt good to actually have his love returned for once. They actually had something. And he didn't want to let that go. ...He wasn't going to accept this. Not easily.
David's signal will not be in vain, but the King of Heroes hasn't completely ruled giving him a beat down just yet. His attention for the time being will be focused solely on Beatrice, as he tries to think of something, anything at all to say. ]
You mistake the past for the present. While it's true I may have harbored feelings for the legendary King of Knights, can I really say that the feeling is still as strong now? Perhaps everything I do for her is merely out of the force of habit. She lives with me, but how often do I actually see her? How much of my time does she actually occupy?
[ A pause, but then he moves towards Beatrice, looping his arms with one of hers and attempting to lead her away. He has no actual destination in mind, he's simply getting them away from the annoyance. ]
Honestly, I've had enough with this non-sense. I have no time for these games of assumption. Beatrice, we're leaving.

Your obsession for her is imprinted in you right down to your soul. I ignored it perhaps out of the selfishness of wanting to be the one at your side. But I can't overlook it any longer. I will not be your second best. Your interest in her may wane, but as long as you still feel for her enough to rise from a bed of bandages, that obsession exists. And it's too strong even for me to overcome.
[With that, she'd turn to David. She'd truly earn her reputation as a horrible witch by turning away this man.]
David, dearest David. I'm afraid I've been unfair to you as he has been unfair to me. He can't love me completely and, in turn, I cannot love you completely. You deserve the finest wife, sadly I cannot be that for you. I hope you'll forgive me.

A part of him, small and bitter and jealous and vindictive, almost lashes out for once, or at least tells him to do so. He's already taken women by force before, right? If he had already sinned enough to send out a man to die in battle only to take his wife, then what would one more or less be? He could do it, it would be so easy--
... But no. He can't do it. Not to a woman he truly felt happy with, not in the eyes of a God that had already punished him for it once. ]
... I forgive you. [ He's grateful for his pokerface, really, even if his voice is a little softer than normal. He's definitely not going to linger around here in front of that man and that woman with only his bitterness and pain to wallow in. So without saying another word he just nods at the two and sharply turns to walk away.
Clearly to go and drink his sorrows away somewhere alone.]
