A poor excuse for an argument

Garviel scowls at the door to his room. Beatrice is late. Surely she hasn't ignore his invitation to dinner, not after the feast he laid out. An entire roast duck, several kinds of tea and various delicious sweets, as well as ice cream, all on a rather elaborate-looking tray that he'd spent an entire week's wages on requesting from the Bay View's staff.

He looks down at the various dinner forks arrayed before him after failing to melt the door with his scowl, and puzzles over what they are all for.

[ His face maintains the same calm mask, but there is just a hint of hurt in his eyes.]

[ Garviel laughs for a moment, stands up, and walks over to Golden Witch. He pauses above her for a moment, then takes her into his arms, giving her a kiss that could only be called bruising in its passion and intensity, arms tight around her waist. ]

I bring you here to parley and you declare war. So be it. We'll defeat each other if we must.

[ His eyes are narrowed at her.]

An man has his pride. I desire you, but I shall not beg for you. Nor will I ask you to beg for me. We will lash out at each other and hurt each other, if passion is what you desire and enjoy.... but no one will be enslaved.

And since this is war.... I will take things that I would not take in peace.

[If it's a fight he wants, he'll get it. He may have caught her off guard with the force of his lips against hers, but she'll get her bearings soon enough. She'll give a rough bite to his bottom lip, mid-kiss, certainly drawing blood.]

[She'll return his gaze, defiant as ever despite her situation.]

[ He steps back, wiping his bloodied lip, glaring at her, folding his arms across his broad chest. ]

My fealty is to the Emperor, no one else.

I never yield.

[Slowly, she'll lick the blood from her lips, giving him a positively vile grin.]

Do you rehearse that for when life throws you a curve~?

[She can't help but shake her head and close the gap between them.]

Where is your emperor? In this room? This island?

If there are two people in the world of this room to you, who is so used to serving, can I not be your emperor? Can you not serve me in the same way~?

The Emperor is in here!

[ He touches his chest.]

His blood, the blood of his sons, flows in us all!

[ He almost snarls at her. ]

Speak no further of this heresy. I will serve no other.

[Oh, his devotion is completely darling. It'll cause her a light, girlish giggle.]

Funny, then. That blood tastes as coppery and mortal as any.

Since I've had a taste, though, does that mean your emperor is inside of me, too? I suppose he beat you to the punch, hm~?

[ He turns his back on her, his face a mask of rage and disbelief before he turns. ]

[After a moment, he'll feel her arms wrap around his chest from behind. A gentle embrace to make truce for harsh words.]

You wanted a war. My words are my sword and shield. It seems I've left you a little wound to lick.

It's just that...you remind me of someone I knew. I can no longer fight against him, so I search for another opponent. One who bears such denial as a badge on his chest...

[ Garviel puts his hands over hers for a moment, not to ward them away, but rather to hold them there. ]
