SUMMARY: It's Tanabata~ will Hikoboshi and Orihime meet tonight?

Even though she was now in America, Haruhi wasn't going to let one of her favorite holidays go by without notice! The high schooler had gathered all the necessary items for her own tanabata celebration on the roof of the hotel. Earlier in the day she had hunted down bamboo potted plants (or what appeared to be bamboo; if it wasn't perfect that was fine), and gathered colored pieces of paper and string. The weather had managed to cooperate with the holiday as well; the skies were clear, and though they were a bit dimmer due to the city lights, the stars could be clearly seen.

"So I figured out last year that it would take 25 years for my wish to get to one star and 16 years to the other," Haruhi mumbled to herself. "But if they're coming from America would it be different? Maybe a little faster since Americans are so speedy and impatient." She flopped down on the ground and pulled a magic marker's cap off with her mouth.

"Wish time!" Ignoring everything around her, Haruhi began scribbling her wishes on two different pieces of paper.

Allen was mostly wandering around the hotel, familiarising himself with the layout again. His sense of direction, or the lack thereof, means he tend to find himself elsewhere.

Which was how he found himself opening the door to the rooftop.

"No, no, I used that one last year..." Haruhi hurriedly scratched out her writing with her pen. Throwing it aside, she turned to pick up another piece of paper, when she spotted the figure at the door.

"Hello?" She couldn't really see from here; the light wasn't very good on the roof.

He walked out of the door, so that he's finally outside.

"Hello. Am I interrupting you?"

"Whoa...." Catching a full glimpse of the guy, Haruhi got excited. Throwing her paper aside, she jumps up and runs right up to the newcomer, peering at his face.

"How did you get that tattoo-thing? It's so cool!"

Allen was startled when she's suddenly close to his face. He knows his appearance was unusual, plenty of people at school reacted to it.

"The one over my eye?"

"Yeah!" Haruhi poked the newcomer's cheek. "I've always thought tattoos were cool, but I could never decide what kind to get. I change my mind all the time!"

She stepped back a moment and looked over the newcomer head to toe. "Actually, everything about you is a little weird." She pauses for a moment before blurting out her thought.

"ARE YOU A TIME TRAVELER FROM THE FUTURE????"

He's not surprised at being called 'weird', or described as it. Being asked if he's a time traveler, however, did surprised him.

"A time travel--I'm not a time traveler!"

"Really?" Haruhi leaned closer towards the guy's face. "That sounds like something a time traveler would say. How do I know you're telling the truth?"

You can never trust time travelers. Revealing the truth could ruin the space-time continuum!

He leaned back a little. "How can I convince you I'm not a time traveler?"

She pondered. "I need to think of a test that your time traveling buddys may not have prepared you for..." She looked around at the papers around her. Grabbing one, she handed it over.

"If you're from this time, you should know what to do." Maybe not the best logic, but it was all she could think of at the moment.

He accepted the paper and glanced at it, curiously. Honestly, Allen wasn't sure what she's referring to.

"From this time? But everything in this city look rather advanced..."

"Advanced?!" Haruhi was puzzled. Wouldn't a time traveler be from the future? Unless...

"You're an accidental time traveler! You're from a past time, right? Did you walk into a weird cave or door or something that lead you here? It must be it!"

Yes, her logic was completely sound.

"Well, yes, I'm from a past time." Late 19th century, to be exact. "I didn't walked into a cave, but I did...walked through a door..."

In a way, considering the Ark's gates.

"So you are a time traveler! I knew it!" Haruhi's assumptions were always right, or at least she liked to believe they were always right.

"Oh man, I finally met a time traveler! So what is the strangest thing in this time for you, Mr. Time Traveler?" Man, why did she leave her "things to ask a time traveler" list back in the hotel room?

"Only by accident!" Or was it? There's the thought that he was brought here by someone else. Or a group of people.

"I guess it would be how different things are from my time, like the technology or how people dressed..."

"Technology..." She reached into her pocket and pulled out the cellphone she had received upon her arrival.

"You get one of these too then? You figure out how to work it?" She was kind of curious how someone would react to something like a cell phone if they weren't used to it.

He nodded, pulling out his own cellphone from his pocket.

"These wireless phone receivers? It took me a while to learn how to use it."

"It takes a lot of adults a long time to learn how to use them," Haruhi admitted. "But I can help you learn about other stuff!"

She stuck out her hand. "I'm Haruhi Suzumiya, leader of the SOS Brigade!"

"I would appreciate that, Miss Suzumiya." He smiled, taking her hand and shake it. "I'm Allen Walker, exorcist of the Black Order."

Technically, the Order stripped him of his title, but he still considered himself as an exorcist.

"Allen, huh? So you're from England or America in the past?" It sounded English anyway...

"So have you found somewhere to stay?"

"England, but I did traveled around." Including all the way to India as his master's apprentice. He didn't dwell on the thought too long, choosing to answer her other question.

"I'm currently staying at the hotel at the moment."
