Time for Tanabata!
WHO: Haruhi and whoever else is around!
WHEN: July 7th, early evening.
WHERE: Roof of the Bayview Hotel
SUMMARY: It's Tanabata~ will Hikoboshi and Orihime meet tonight?
RATING: PG.
WARNINGS: None.
Even though she was now in America, Haruhi wasn't going to let one of her favorite holidays go by without notice! The high schooler had gathered all the necessary items for her own tanabata celebration on the roof of the hotel. Earlier in the day she had hunted down bamboo potted plants (or what appeared to be bamboo; if it wasn't perfect that was fine), and gathered colored pieces of paper and string. The weather had managed to cooperate with the holiday as well; the skies were clear, and though they were a bit dimmer due to the city lights, the stars could be clearly seen.
"So I figured out last year that it would take 25 years for my wish to get to one star and 16 years to the other," Haruhi mumbled to herself. "But if they're coming from America would it be different? Maybe a little faster since Americans are so speedy and impatient." She flopped down on the ground and pulled a magic marker's cap off with her mouth.
"Wish time!" Ignoring everything around her, Haruhi began scribbling her wishes on two different pieces of paper.

"The SOS Brigade started as a club in my high school, but I plan to expand the organization beyond that. In fact, I've started to here. It stands for 'Save the World by Overloading it with Fun Haruhi Suzumiya Brigade', or SOS Brigade for short. Our mission is to find aliens, espers, time travelers, and other interesting people and things, and have fun with them!"
She steps back and points directly at Garviel's face. "And you're a prime example of what the Brigade hopes to find!"

Garviel blinks at her, completely nonplussed for the moment.
"I am glad I was what you were looking for?" He says, rather gingerly, wondering if this the right thing to say.
"But why does the world need to be overloaded with fun to save it?"

A lot of people didn't understand her brigade plans, including her members, but that wasn't important. The important thing was achieving her goal by whatever means necessary!

Garviel definitely didn't understand, but the girl was interesting, at least. He has a feeling this is probably one of those people saber suggested needed protection, after all.

"I'm not really sure to be honest. But that's one of the things I'm investigating! Why so many different people showed up in one place. The fact that people from different worlds or times are here is amazing!"

If nothing else, the Astartes is always willing to help humans who are in trouble, even if they don't necessarily see it that way themselves.

Garviel hesitates, and says, "But what would you define as strange? This whole world is strange to me."
no subject
Oh right, the not from here thing. "Umm... like monsters, vampires... any human-esque creature who isn't like me! Like if they seem like they're confused in this world. If you're not sure just send me a message!"

Garviel looks at his cell phone and says, "Ah, you mean the cogitator and vox-caster device that we were provided with? I was wondering what it was called, I thought it might have been named a Nokia."
After all, there are no brand names in the grim dark future where there is only war.

"What were they like? Fight them? How did you fight them?????"
no subject
He seems a bit surprised, he thought those drawn here would be fairly cohesive but this does not appear to be the case.

"So are you the only one here from your world? Or are there other body-builders walking around here?"
no subject
"And are any of your comrades here?"
no subject
"Nope. I'm gonna throttle them when I get a hold of 'em. I'm not surprised at Kyon or Mikuru not showing up, but Itsuki and Yuki? I'm thoroughly disappointed in them." She already had a number of punishments ready in the back of her mind. Most of them were for Kyon, but still...

"Perhaps you should consider this a learning experience, and adventure of sort that you can be sure to tell them about once you get home."
