Right here, right now [OPEN]

WHO: April and you!
WHEN: August 9th, Dark Hour
WHERE: Streets of Prospero.
SUMMARY: In which April awakens her Persona.
RATING: PG/PG-13?
WARNINGS: Possible derpness/ squee-ing over Personas.

The Shadows freaked April out, there was no question about it, but her curiosity over them, the changing building and this thing called a 'Persona' once again led her to go out during the Dark Hour. But despite all her years of fighting, despite all the enemies she had faced and defeated over the years, she couldn't stand up to the Shadows, not on her own.

It was easy enough at first, to use her handgun to take them down, but soon their numbers started to grow to the point that it started to overwhelm the redhead. And April has never been suited for close-combat, a result of being born with a weak leg which required her to wear a leg brace constantly; and any sort of attack to it could easily knock her down. So now she had collapsed to one knee with a group of the creatures surrounding her, handgun gripped tightly in her hand as she aimed at them. She should've planned this out better, she shouldn't have rushed in like this.

But April couldn't give up now, she could never give up and this time wouldn't be different; she needed to get home, she had people waiting for her and a goal to accomplish, and she refused to let these creatures get the better of her. Even with the cuts and bruises and bleeding, April just gritted her teeth and narrowed her eyes at them while keeping her gun aimed at them. The now steadily increasing pounding ache in her head wasn't helping now, but she couldn't give up, she can never give up, she had to fight back-

And at that moment, a flash of light completely covers her vision as the voice of a woman spoke in her head, while the sound of electricity crackling fills her ears;

"Thou art I and I am thou...
I am Iris...
The messenger of the gods and goddess of the colors of the sky"

When April's vision clears, the creatures are gone and instead a woman dressed in the colors of the rainbow floats in front of her and April can only stare in shock and amazement at her. This is probably the most amazing thing she had ever seen.

And then she was gone, leaving April sitting on the ground as she just blinks in shock, before a smile appears on her face. So... that was a Persona... and her Persona is basically a rainbow...

Awesome!

"...You seem rather excited." Lancer remarked with some interest. That didn't seem like the normal reaction to the Dark Hour, at any rate.

"You have one as well?" he glanced around to be sure there weren't any Shadows trying to sneak up on them while they were distracted.

"I haven't yet been able to figure out how many of us have something similar--I'd ask on the network if 'has anyone hallucinated people fighting for them' didn't sound strange."
croibhristeoir: (didn't I my dear)

Lancer turned at the sound as well, twirling both metal pipes in his hands like they were the weapons he was so used to.

"Looks like we're not alone. Not that I'm surprised."

"There really does seem to be no end to them."

Not that Lancer seemed to mind, immediately on the offensive. His attacks were careful and precise, not a single movement wasted as he took down two Shadows while staying out of April's line of fire.

"I heard them as well. Don't worry, I'm sure it's nothing we can't handle." Lancer was on his guard, ready to strike at the smallest trace of movement. He wouldn't try to summon his own persona, at least not until the situation got incredibly dire. That wasn't someone he intended to ask for help with any small matter.

Lancer, on the other hand, seemed perfectly natural. His movements were calculated and yet still seemed almost natural--he fought like he'd done so his entire life, and took down two more in the process.

"You aren't half bad at this." Lancer remarked with a smirk. "And you seeme to be used to your Persona already, I'm surprised."
