Where: City Streets.
Summary: Having no power, a man with ideals decides to gain power to reach his goal.
Rating: PG-13 / R for violence and possible swearing depending on how the log goes.
Warnings: Shirou is a dumb idiot. This is a fact.

[...without his Magecraft, Shirou is just a powerless man who can't save everyone he meets. To be a hero, he has to be able to defeat these so-called Shadows, and gain the power of Persona, not necessarily in that order.

He won't let anyone else be hurt anymore, he'll make sure of that.

Which is why Shirou is currently wandering around during the Dark Hour.

See, this would probably a normal sight if he actually wields a sword instead of... Well, you know. A pipe.

Care to disturb him before he gets himself into a huge mess?]

Sorry, I only arrived here recently so I haven't been told all the details about here.

[This is not good at all as the Shadows begin circling around them, slowly closing in. Things weren't supposed to end like this. She only just arrived here after expericing death back where she was from. Not to mention, she hated feeling powerless and unable to help.]

[...dammit, surrounded and with no way out. That just leaves one thing.]

...I can handle this! Get back!

[Rather reluctantly, she does what's she told. It better not be a suicidal attack, Shirou, or else you'll never hear the end of it. Saori feels responsible for bringing these Shadows and doesn't want be such a burden to him.]

I'm going to hold them back, just get away to safety!

No way! You can't take them all by yourself! I'm not gonna just abandon you like this!

[Just then Saori hears a woman's voice in her head.]

"I art thou and thou am I. I am the goddess, Brigid. If you seek both fire and comfort, in my name..."

Brigid?

[Sure enough, there's a woman holding a urn containing fire (images.wikia.com/megamitensei/images/0/04/BRIGID.png) hovering above them.]

What in the world?

[Oh well who cares about that right now, Shirou's still surrounded here!]

Persona? Alright, if we get out of this, I'd like an explanation later.

[Enough with the chit chat, it's time to get the ball going. Starting with the one closest to Shirou, Brigid makes quick work out of the Shadow by using Agni. It maybe not be a multi-targeting attack but Saori will gladly take what she's got.]

Let's hope this will shake them off.

[Well, its definitely working, several of the Mayas are roasted by the spell, while the Dancing Hands are dealt with by virtue of Shirou's pipe.

All in all, a good way to gain experience!]

[By the look of things, Saori looks like she's slowly getting the hang of things. A few moments later, the last of the Mayas were taken care of. Now that the threat was over, Saori could relax for now. ]

That was close. I'm sorry to have caused you this much trouble.

[He gives a sigh of relief at the end of the battle.]

I'm just glad I was able find someone. Thank you for your help.

[She bows politely and smiles. Brigid's now gone so it's just Saori and Shirou.]

So, what were you doing around this hour?

Uh...funny story about that, I was at the library earlier in the evening until it was closing. I thought it was still too early to go back to the hotel so I thought it wouldn't hurt to look around here and then those Shadows came up.

[She laughs sheepishly. Yes, she realizes now that was a rather stupid move on her behalf. At least it's a lesson she won't be forgetting anytime soon.]

I... guess you haven't heard about the Dark Hour, then?
