Where: City Streets.
Summary: Having no power, a man with ideals decides to gain power to reach his goal.
Rating: PG-13 / R for violence and possible swearing depending on how the log goes.
Warnings: Shirou is a dumb idiot. This is a fact.

[...without his Magecraft, Shirou is just a powerless man who can't save everyone he meets. To be a hero, he has to be able to defeat these so-called Shadows, and gain the power of Persona, not necessarily in that order.

He won't let anyone else be hurt anymore, he'll make sure of that.

Which is why Shirou is currently wandering around during the Dark Hour.

See, this would probably a normal sight if he actually wields a sword instead of... Well, you know. A pipe.

"Yeah, that would be about right."

That statement would be enough to answer Kaito's first two queries, and actually Shirou's not really that adequate in fighting, but he gets by.

Most of the time.

Kaito was about to have a nice conversation with him, but his eyes locked at somewhere else. And he knew it wasn't good.

"...About time. They always come out when we're in groups. They really pick some hard challenges nowadays."

There were shadows appeared behind the wall, not far from they stood. Kaito was ready to give himself a pace of his combat moves after one week idled. He wondered if he still can summon his Persona.

Shirou stared for a few seconds, before entering into a stance that was often used during his fights. Of course, that stance has a lot of holes in it that any seasoned fighter can exploit, but since Shadows are not exactly that intelligent, its not exactly an important matter to address anyways.

Kaito visibly took out his short dagger, and taking his pace to attack. He eliminated the first shadow with one slash, causing more shadows appeared around them. This is where Kaito noticed the sudden change of shadows behavior. He didn't know what it is, but to keep fighting is the only way.

Shirou, contrary to Kaito's slashes, is just literally beating up all those Shadows with his pipe. Unsurprisingly, he seems to be doing quite the good job with clearing them out, except those annoying Mayas, of course.

Kaito quite impressed with Shirou, since he never fought with someone new who had their own combat skills. He made himself closed to the Mayas and beat them off. It seemed they fought the shadows pretty well, until a new type of shadow appeared from nowhere. It's a Change Relic.

"What the-- I never seen this shadow before! Be cautious, it might be strong."

"Alright."

And with that, Shirou begins to get into a defensive position, in case the new Shadow proved to be trouble.

The Change Relic set itself in standby position, and Kaito took his chance to slash it first. A loud clanged will be heard as the blade connected to the enemy, and Kaito took his distance away from it.

"...I couldn't damage it much."

He using dagger after all, and he's not a type for a melee attacker. Where is his mate when he need one?

If that dagger couldn't pierce the enemy, what was the probability of his pipe actually damaging the enemy?

None, he concluded.

Which was why he's going to just, grab Kaito's hand and starts getting away from it.

Kaito stared confusedly at the enemy, not knowing a sudden grab from his new mate as he leaded him out from the battle. It's better to run away, rather than risking his second life. Kaito took a glance at his back, and they're still chasing.

"They're not letting up, are they?"

This would be so much easier if he had access to his Reinforcement magic, but beggars can't be chooser, he guessed, so increasing the speed of his run should be enough.

Right?

"Unless if we could weaken them, we take our chance to escape."

Physical attack could only damaged them a little. So here goes his 'Plan B'. Kaito closed his eyes and began to focus on a ritual summoning. The blue particle appeared below him, the surroundings was suddenly cold from the breeze of the particle.

A winged beast, Boreas, merged from Kaito. It cried for its might before Kaito commanded it with a freezing skill. "Bufu!" The beast formed a block of ice and dealt a damage to it, before the summoned beast faded in a flash.
