Fortune Full Moon Log

When midnight strikes and the dark hour falls, and things are beginning to look as they did on that fateful night a month ago. The streets are empty of shadows. The characters feel a strange power pulling them, not towards the dungeon, but to the Golden Palace Casino.

Once there characters will find a large creature (the Fortune) in on top of the roof. It resembles a giant pair of dice with a mask on the taller stack. On the ground below are smaller shadows (Merciless Mayas), standing in two groups either side of an extremely large spinning wheel that once stood in the entry way of the building.  In front of the wheel are Kanda and Syd, both tied up and caged bent and broken prop items from inside the casino.

When characters try to get closer, the wheel will be spun and after a few moments. Kanda is released.  Syd will be suddenly carted off to the roof to stay trapped beside the Arcana shadow and suddenly the smaller shadows will start to attack.

The groups can consist of three to six people. The objective is the defeat the smaller shadows, doing so will defeat the Fortune and save Syd.

Foolish, but impressive.

[Is that actually a smile? Who knows, because Ledah soon returns to the important task of skewering Mayas.]

[Just because she's only 5'1" and pretty skinny doesn't mean she can't pack at punch, but yeah, it was pretty stupid. Doesn't change the fact that she's secretly giddy over doing it though.

April gives a sheepish giggle at what Ledah says, before going back to the task of shooting and Zio-ing the hell out of Mayas.]

[Thank you, Ledah, for summing that up so well.

The rush of Mayas doesn't seem to be letting up that much, either, which is worrying. How many are there, exactly?]

Red fire, there really is no end to them.

[Says the man that just whacked one to death with a metal pipe. But one more dead Maya does not victory make.]

Between all of us, we should be able to put a stop to them - it will just take time. I hope you don't tire easily.

[Ledah does not believe in infinite monsters.]

Yeah, we'll beat them eventually, we just have to keep going.

[As long as they keep killing them, they'll win eventually; that's what April thinks. And she gives a small squeak as she dodges an Agi, before going back to shooting.]

I was not considering giving up, I was merely making an observation. I--

[Zio in the face for you, nearest Maya! How do you like that?]

Pardon. I am merely using this battle as an excuse to try and understand these creatures, and the fact that they seem to swarm with this magnitude is --

[He pauses to take out another of the swarming black creatures with his pipe.]

-- intriguing.

If you would like to study them, perhaps you should capture one on their normal attacks - it would be impractical to try to subdue them here-

[That one got too close, and manages to get in a solid claw at him before being forced away by the brunt of a lance and then killed.]

The reasons should be obvious.

[Took her a while to find where people are but hey, she recognizes Papa Bird Klaus and rushes in. She gives any incoming Mayas a smack from her baseball bat.]

Baron! I finally found you! Sorry it took me a while to get here.

Why couldn't these Shadows be weak to fire?! I'll give it my best though.

[There's a moment where April just blinks at Saori, momentarily distracted by her suddenly running in and smacking a Maya with a baseball bat, before realizing she's talking to one of the guys.

So April turns her attention back to the Shadows, Zio-ing another one that got too close to the group.]

Last post in this thread for me! Leaving tomorrow. GO ON WITHOUT MEEE~

[Oh my god, they really do swarm like crazy. This is kind of amazing. Could it be that the big shadow atop the building is directing, if not controlling, the smaller ones? It's worth investigating when he's not in imminent peril.

And oh hey, a Saori! Good. They could use one more bludgeoning tool. He whacks one of the shadows away from April, but he can't fight them all on his own...

April, PUNCH LIKE YOU HAVE NEVER PUNCHED BEFORE.

Or pistolwhip. That might be even cooler.]

[Even Ledah can't control the flow of them in such large numbers, but he tries, piercing a Shadow clean through.]

It would be better for them if they knew to feel fear. [Spoken while attacking others. He was made a warrior after all.]

[There's a moment where April mentally flails, cause why are they going for her. So, she focuses on shooting at the Shadows, but when her gun needs reloading, she instead opts for Zio-ing and pistol-whipping any Shadows that get close to her. Of course, she still gets a few hits on her and retaliates in her usual punches.]

Y-yeah, maybe then they would just stop coming. [Although she's trying not to show it, she's starting to feel a bit tired, but she doesn't stop fighting.]
