Full Moon Log : Hermit

When midnight strikes and the dark hour falls, characters will notice things are not going as they have in the past few weeks. The streets, normally crawling with shadows, are empty. There’s a thick tension in the air and characters may feel a strange power pulling them towards the dungeon in the business ward.

Once there characters will find a large creature (the Hermit) in the entrance way. It is crawling on several legs, has a mask like face and gravity defying blue fur around the head. Several feet away from it, spaced out in a semi circle around it are smaller creatures (Noble Seekers). These creatures look like floating clay masks with eyes encircling them. Once the larger shadow sees the intruders, it will emit a loud cry and run outside.

Once there it will get atop a building and the smaller shadows will start to attack. These foes are attempting to force the characters in small groups and are attacking one at a time.

The small groups shouldn’t be of more than three characters. The objective is the defeat the smaller shadows, doing so will defeat the Hermit.

The Fight

The shadows are on the attack! What do?

Once characters start commenting, this journal will be used to play out the shadows they are fighting.

[ This was the role of the King of Knights. Even without those faithful to her through blood and blade, the fight must be carried out. With the lack of her trusted blade (or even the ceremonial one she fancies), there's a lingering distrust in her own ability to go on the offense.

Regardless, it was better her than any of the others.

The warrior instinct in her knows that in order to draw the attention away from the others, their enemy will need a single target to focus on. Yet, the commander instinct she held reminds her that approaching a target that's stationary is no good. It remains that way for a purpose. There is little need to draw this out anymore: Saber sprints across the ground with haste, her small frame surprisingly quick with the metal armor she adorns herself with. Leaping off of a box (smashing it underneath her greaves) she spirals through the air straight for The Hermit.

[ One of the Noble seekers moves to intercept, physically floating up to interpose itself between Saber and the Hermit, and a burst of lighting hurls from the sky, slamming into her as it uses a Zio spell. Saber is momentarily shocked, the energy arcing around her armor and burning her clothes lightly. Not down... but her flight will now carry her into a mass of the Noble Seekers, that crowd around her, but strangely do not take any physical action beyond blocking her to their master. It would seem their sorcerous potency is enough. ]

(Some OOC explanation. The critters will be breaking you into groups of 3, as you move in by this herding method you've seen demonstrated on Saber. Beyond that, tag as you please, and cross-tag with comments on the cell phone between groups.)

[ The shock takes her by surprise and even though it courses it's way through her body, she manages to have the willpower to focus on her opponents. Steadying her balance, she turns her blade to be at her side as she runs towards the 'barricade', intent on breaking through them.

After all, her goal lays just beyond them. ]

[The blades hits the creature and it recoils, but doesn't change position enough to let Saber pass. The Noble Seeker instead shoots out a torrent of fire aimed at and around Saber, trying to stop her progress.]

[ The flame takes her by surprise only due to unpleasant memories associated with it, staggering back slightly. It barely passes by, having enough instinct to get by, but her face does break out into sweat instantaneously due to the intense heat. With some distance between her and the inferno, this warrior takes a moment to recollect herself, a brief respite in the midst of combat.

Then she goes in again, blade out, with the full intent to kill. ]

[Ingrid rushes outside after the creatures, but she hangs closer to the back of the crowd. As tempermental as she may be, age had taught her to assess a threat before jumping in. With so many children running about, she couldn't afford to do this blindly.]

[ Garviel laughs, hammering off a shot from his pistol towards one of the nearby Noble seekers. ]

I'm letting Saber take care of the rash part for the moment, I think.

She's being ridiculous. Running into this without knowing what we're getting into is foolish. [She raises her own small pistol, face severe.]

She? [ Garviel blinks, utterly mystified, his firing rhythm off for a moment, and he has to re-aim after a shot misses. ]

We do have a plan, of a sort. The Speartip. Strike the throat and the beast dies. He's executing her part as our champion. Our part is to defend and support him.

[Tatsuma takes up his usual stance, left arm held in front of him. He's hanging back, close to Ishtar with the intent of keeping her from harm. However, he will move on to the offensive if he must.]

[ The seekers square off with you, but they haven't attacked yet. What do, Ishtar and Tatsuma? ]

[Allen is watching them, carefully, moving to stand in front of Ishtar and Tatsuma.]

[ Ishtar is keeping her guard up at all costs. She didn't want her teammates to be hindered by her lack of ability. She'll raise her sword in defense waiting for the right moment to strike. She noticed Allen had taken a move to stand in front of both of them. ]

Should...we go in for an attack...yet?

[ She mused, a little nervous. She didn't know what those things were capable of. ]

[The time to attack may well be now. Two Seekers come at the group from the left, one casting lightening down on the fighters and the other shooting out gusts of wind.]

[This was totally madness, Kaito saw the large size of Shadow rushed out from the building, and went to nowhere from his sight. But it didn't take too long after that, more new type of Shadows appeared. He could predict their attack were just begun, and he unsheathed his dagger to defend himself, or attack if necessary.]

[Atsuro's been smacking at the Shadows that came close to him, giving himself some space. At times, he'd be forced to defend himself or cover for everyone else nearby.]

[ The seekers surge towards you, what are your actions at this point? ]

[Kaito has to give the first taste of his blade on them. He launched forward as he held the dagger upside down, he made a contact on a seeker with his blade. Pushing his legs backward, he stood back to his position and prepared for his next move. He had to keep watch on his comrades back, since they're dealing with lots of them.]

[Compared to the others, Ryuunosuke didn't look too worried - no fear of being hurt would do that. He slashed at the seeker nearest him, watching it and the ones around it for sudden movements he'd have to dodge.]
