Right here, right now [OPEN]
WHO: April and you!
WHEN: August 9th, Dark Hour
WHERE: Streets of Prospero.
SUMMARY: In which April awakens her Persona.
RATING: PG/PG-13?
WARNINGS: Possible derpness/ squee-ing over Personas.
The Shadows freaked April out, there was no question about it, but her curiosity over them, the changing building and this thing called a 'Persona' once again led her to go out during the Dark Hour. But despite all her years of fighting, despite all the enemies she had faced and defeated over the years, she couldn't stand up to the Shadows, not on her own.
It was easy enough at first, to use her handgun to take them down, but soon their numbers started to grow to the point that it started to overwhelm the redhead. And April has never been suited for close-combat, a result of being born with a weak leg which required her to wear a leg brace constantly; and any sort of attack to it could easily knock her down. So now she had collapsed to one knee with a group of the creatures surrounding her, handgun gripped tightly in her hand as she aimed at them. She should've planned this out better, she shouldn't have rushed in like this.
But April couldn't give up now, she could never give up and this time wouldn't be different; she needed to get home, she had people waiting for her and a goal to accomplish, and she refused to let these creatures get the better of her. Even with the cuts and bruises and bleeding, April just gritted her teeth and narrowed her eyes at them while keeping her gun aimed at them. The now steadily increasing pounding ache in her head wasn't helping now, but she couldn't give up, she can never give up, she had to fight back-
And at that moment, a flash of light completely covers her vision as the voice of a woman spoke in her head, while the sound of electricity crackling fills her ears;
"Thou art I and I am thou...
I am Iris...
The messenger of the gods and goddess of the colors of the sky"
When April's vision clears, the creatures are gone and instead a woman dressed in the colors of the rainbow floats in front of her and April can only stare in shock and amazement at her. This is probably the most amazing thing she had ever seen.
And then she was gone, leaving April sitting on the ground as she just blinks in shock, before a smile appears on her face. So... that was a Persona... and her Persona is basically a rainbow...
Awesome!

"Are you alright?" This wasn't the first time he'd run into someone that had just gotten themselves out of trouble, and it surely wouldn't be the last.
no subject
"Ah, yep, I'm fine. Just a few scratches." She quickly takes a look at her injuries, though they're nothing serious. And she seems energetic at least, since she's still mentally fangirling over her persona.

She miiiight be like this for a while. It may seem like a strange thing to be excited over, but April can't help but be excited about it.
no subject
"I haven't yet been able to figure out how many of us have something similar--I'd ask on the network if 'has anyone hallucinated people fighting for them' didn't sound strange."
no subject
"Yeah, that would sound strange. Though it may be possible that all of use who've been brought here have one, since it seems like we're the only ones who can see the shadows and such. But then it could be that not everyone actually knows about them yet, since I only found out about Persona's because someone mentioned it..."
The sound of something moving nearby stops April from saying anything else, since she immediately shuts up and goes to reload her gun. While she may not have been on guard before, she certainly is now.
no subject
"Looks like we're not alone. Not that I'm surprised."

A group of around 7 shadows begin to appear from the darkness and make their way towards the pair, though April is quick to take aim and fire at them, managing to take down at least one of them and drive back another.

Not that Lancer seemed to mind, immediately on the offensive. His attacks were careful and precise, not a single movement wasted as he took down two Shadows while staying out of April's line of fire.
no subject
"I think I can hear more of them!" Just gonna keep looking around to see if she can actually spot them.

And it's at this moment that she summons Iris again and the rainbow Persona takes down another Shadow with Zio, which makes April smile and mentally fangirl again, before she returns her attention to the Shadows, though luckily it seems that most of them had been disposed.

"To be honest, I'm still not completely used to it. But in a way, it kinda reminds me of the powers I had before, so my Persona feels... easy to use, I guess." Plus, it's a rainbow, and rainbows are awesome.
no subject
The Persona would protect the lady of course, but the shadows were still there, and the lady wasn't doing anything to fight them.
After her momentary surprise, Homura makes herself known with an Agi to the closest shadow.
She turns to April after disposing of it, "Don't let your guard down."
no subject
"Ah, right!" She's kinda annoyed at herself for dropping her guard so easily, but she manages to focus again and pushes herself onto her feet, summoning Iris again to use Zio on another nearby shadow.
no subject
"Stand back," since she gave up her bow to Madoka she's relying on her own homemade weaponry.
Homura will pull out a bomb from a pocket, and look over at April, waiting for her to move away.

The resulting blast manages to take out a good number of the shadows. The one closest to her gets another Agi aimed at it.

With that assurance she'll aim another Agi at the closest shadow.
"Why are you out here?" Didn't this woman just arrive? It's dangerous during the Dark Hour. And it she just awoke her Persona.
no subject
"... To be honest, I was curious and I wanted to summon my Persona... Plus, I wanted to help with fighting the Shadows, but, uh, I didn't expect to get jumped so easily. So thank you, for helping me out."
no subject
"Don't be reckless next time."

There weren't that many people who would take a fourteen year old seriously, after all.

The sight of April's gun makes her wish she had one of her own. It's been a long time since she used that kind of weaponry.

"Stand back." She doesn't want to risk either of them getting caught in the blast.

The resulting blast manages to take out a good portion of the shadows.

Once things have calmed down, she turns her attention to Homura. "... Hey, I'm just wondering, but do you know how to use a gun?"
no subject
"I do."
no subject
"Hey, if you want, I can get one for you!"
no subject
Homura's a little surprised at the offer. It wasn't often people offered to help her out like that. "... Thank you. I'd appreciate it."

Gladius swung over a shoulder, the former Servant closed the distance between her and the girl, apparently ignoring for the time being that she should keep her guard up at every moment. Saber saw no need of doing this, of course, as she was awesome, not to mention she was actually paying attention to her surroundings.
"You", called as she looked down on her, mostly because April was still on the floor. "How do I get one of those?"
no subject
After saying this she hops onto her feet and brushes herself off, since her injuries weren't that bad.
no subject
Well, she hasn't been taking it seriously, so maybe that's the explanation.
"Mind if I tag along for I while? I would like to know what comes out of this little experiment."
no subject
Though it isn't long before another group of Shadows begins to approach the pair.
no subject
Assuming she has one. Still, the moment a Shadow gets close enough, Saber cuts it with a swift movement, and from then on she's moving around, cutting whatever April doesn't shoot at.

"Stupid little critters...were I an Heroic Spirit you would be begging for mercy."
Saber focus on her Persona, whatever it might be, but nothing happens. At least not immediately. She forces herself to stop for a moment, close her eyes, and actually try to reach for more power. To actually ask for help. And then she feels it, the surge of power coming from within her.
There is sudden flash around Saber, and then what can only be described as an angel (http://images1.wikia.nocookie.net/__cb20080715114527/megamitensei/images/thumb/b/b0/P3-Lucifer.png/395px-P3-Lucifer.png) appears in front of Saber, eliminating most of the Shadows in two clean sweeps before vanishing. Saber is speechless for a moment before she nods.
"Yes, this will most definitely do."
