[ Shakespeare work hard and organized the best thing ever. Or at least he spent tons of money in this party. Soon the day arrived and everything was ready for this to be a night people would never be able to forget. HAHAHAHA THIS IS FUNNY CONSIDERING WHAT IT'S AWAITING FOR HIM

[ Merrill is dressed somewhat plainly in comparison to most people and for such an event, and obviously didn't put much effort into looking good, but don't blame her, man, they don't have these things in her world, especially back where she lived, and this is literally the first time in her entire life she's been to one.

She's standing next to a corner somewhere, off to the side, in a way that basically screams "socially awkward and inexperienced shy person", looking like she wants to join in but has no idea what to do and how. She seems calm enough, but her expression is kind of hopelessly lost. ]

[harpbeat]

[Eater spots her and, what the hell, he's talked to her before.]

Yo. Waiting for something?

[elvhen]

[ oh hey she recognizes this person! she turns around and blinks a little. ] N-not, really, no...! Did I seem like it? [ she also then proceeds to realize that he's wearing a dress but doesn't really think much of it. ]

[harpbeat]

You kind of did. Like somebody'd have to come up and talk to you.

[elvhen]

Oh, well! I've... I'm not exactly used to this kind of thing, so I'm not really sure what to do, and it would be easier if someone else were to come up to be and, you know, take the initiative by talking to me.

[harpbeat]

Right. So here I am, chatting away.

[elvhen]

...And I'm, as expected, no good at all at responding. [ sighs ] Normally I'd be rambling on and on about now, but right when I actually need it I seem to lose that ability.

[harpbeat]

No problem. We can just start with something and go on from there.

Nice dress.

[elvhen]

Why, thank you! Yours is very nice too! It suits you!

[harpbeat]

I'd curtsy but it's way too girly for me, and bowing doesn't work in a dress like this.

[elvhen]

...Way too girly? But you're wearing a dress. [ confused look. this is her logic yep. ]

[harpbeat]

I look damn fine in this dress.

...Well, yes, but... um, it's already pretty girly, so I don't understand why you wouldn't do something just because it's too girly.

[ Merrill briefly stares at her before she suddenly recognizes her. ] Oh, hello, Nanami! ...I don't know if I can say that I'm having fun. But it's not too bad.

I'm... not very good at... things like this. And I've never been at a party like this before. Ever. I couldn't go even if I wanted to. [ she looks away a little with an embarrassed expression ] So, I'm, you know, a bit lost here and not too sure what to do.

You couldn't go before?

...Fancy parties are for nobles and humans who are in high social standing, not for elves. [ says that even though she has perfectly flat, normal human ears but that's only for now and because of the city's effects ]

Oh, hey, you're here too! [Did they ever exchange names idek man but YEAH AWESOME PEOPLE and clearly "socially awkward and inexperienced shy person" needs to hang around "friendly and sociable person" right.]

Oh, oh, I know you! You helped me out back then! [ claps a little in excitement and no they didn't exchange names but this is a good opportunity to.... ]

Yeah, I did! Or tried to at least. [LET'S GET TO FIXING THIS THEN YEAAAH.] It's been pretty rude of me to have gone this long without introducing myself too; my name is Arthur, and I'm glad I was able to help out that time. It's nice to meet you, miss.

[He even bows all nicely too LOOK LOOK HE CAN BE A GOOD KNIGHT WHEN HE WANTS.]

Um, it's nice to meet you, I suppose, since this is the second time we're meeting, so I don't know if it really counts but I don't want to be rude either so I'm saying it anyway and... I'm rambling aren't I.
