Issei, understand that I do love my father dearly.

But the sheer mortifying embarrassment he could unknowingly inflict might well lead me to board the first boat halfway across the world and never show my face within several hundred miles of Prospero again.

I do not kind it a difficult concept to grasp. He may as well have been the patron deity of 'accidentally humiliating my adopted child'.

While I do care about him a great deal and am eternally grateful for the kindness he had always granted me, he was certainly...very overbearing when it came to taking care of me.
