I'd guess they've all been favorable reactions, but then I try to think of what kind of sick mind wouldn't be able to appreciate it and it's a little bit depressing~

Oh, you're too kind. I don't get many chances to really change things up so I couldn't resist this dress and the fact that it's just a bit flashy.

[She'll smile, giving over to a light giggle.]

I'm glad you think so. I am fond of these types of get-togethers. My teacher always readied me in etiquette for a setting such as this.

Hmm... If I had to put it in one word that let me be a pinch self-depreciating, I think the local phrase for it would be "bumpkin."

Not much in the way of high society where I call home. I can count the number of mansions like this on one hand, even.

I don't find anything wrong with that kind of life. In fact I might find it to be peaceful.

High society has its advantages, but it can be troublesome. It's hard walking on a tightrope where even your laugh is corrected at times.

The issues of whatever rigors are native to your location versus the problems of unspoken rules on how to act. They're both kind of a pain, I guess.

That said, home's home, despite whatever troubles it has. S'what I think, anyway.

The way things have unfolded here make me rethink my stance on a lot.

Well, I'll admit I've got a bit of a leg up on most of my neighbors in terms of literacy~

It shows. It's not so much literacy, though but that you understand situations well. I'm not sure how to explain it.

And I can agree with that statement fully.

I stopped being surprised day one, when a gentleman mentioned being from... I think it was a time thirty-eight millennia from now.

It's much easier, and way more interesting, just rolling with the weird and surprising stuff than doubting 'em~

At first I had my doubts, but I suppose people doubted me as well.

It's not like I can prove it. Having my magic taken was like removing an appendage.

I lost my magic, my furniture, my teacher...everything I knew.

I can be independent, of course. But there are times when I call for them or wish for something and nothing happens. It certainly takes time to get used to.

I know that feeling way too well. My sister came here recently, so that's been nice... to put it mildly, anyway.

[She pauses, before grinning wryly, somber tone eradicated.]

Y'know. I think you mentioned furniture before, actually. Got an armoire you're particularly attached to?

Oh, yes. I suppose I can't say everything is lost, though. One of my underlings came here recently as well.
She makes things feel much more like home.

[It'll take her a moment to follow along here, but she'll be sure to offer a deep cackle.]

No, no, no.~ Where I come from, your servants are referred to as furniture.

...Oh! So instead of just being "servants", they're "furniture"?

Do they keep specific titles like butler n'chef, too?

Yes. It's an apt name for them, I'd say.

And yes, they still have certain duties.

For example, Ronove would be my personal butler. I believe we spoke about him once before.~
