Oh, believe me. I know. Just remember that turnabout is fair play. But how could the atmosphere be anything else? This is his mansion, after all. ...I must admit I am slightly jealous. Had I known something like this was available, I would have snatched it up for myself.
And don't think you're off the hook just yet, either. While I suppose you would be further down on the list compared to... certain other mongrels, there's always a chance that when you provoke a lion, it will bite your head off. Just a fair warning.

You would be jealous, wouldn't you? Ah, but you shouldn't be. You're not really the type for an antique mansion like this. Leave it to a man who can create such an atmosphere.
And what makes you think I want to be off the hook? I like the tension that comes with not knowing whether you want to kill me or kiss me.
Since you've been so kind, I'll tell you a secret. I provoke you because your attention, good or bad, is addictive and I delight in the few small moments that it belongs only to me.~

You do have a point. I would actually have to hire a handful of undeserving mongrels to keep the place spotless. I suppose the condo does suit me more in this world.
Is that so? Then I guess it's only fair to reveal a secret of my own. I've been enjoying this, whatever you would like to call it. It's been some time since anyone has dared to challenge me. It's rather exciting.
no subject
It does. It's over the top. New. Dazzling. Those things are very you.
[She'd giggle a bit in spite of herself.]
Then allow me to excite you with every challenge I provide and you can spoil me with your undecided attention. I care little for the context.~

So long as you keep things interesting, I doubt you'll have to worry about anyone else stealing my attention away. You are by far one of the most interesting mongrels I've met here. I haven't felt this sort of thrill since my battle with Alexander.
no subject
I...I don't think you have to worry about my keeping things interesting. If that's all you require to hold me this closely, I'll gladly oblige. I can't promise I'll play fair, though.~
no subject
I wouldn't expect a witch to ever play fairly. But I don't believe you'll be able to top me anytime soon.
no subject
Is that so~? What a pity. That sounds like it might be a lot of fun.~

Ah, but this was neither the time nor place to ponder such things. She was within his grasp. His hands would move to wrap around her waist as he lead her into a slow, rocking dance. He could have simply stood there holding her, but this was both a dance and it might look a little suspicious to the odd observer. And he was nothing if not about his appearance. Still, he would have to admit that it was nice for a change. ]
Well, I didn't say never, did I? Keep trying, and you never know just what you may be able to accomplish.
no subject
Oh, you'd be surprised what I can accomplish when determined.~

Ah, this is such an odd feeling. No matter how much we seem to get on each other's nerves, I find myself enjoying your company more than I should. Perhaps you could even say that I...
[ It was a brief pause. Perhaps he caught himself before actually saying anything, trying to decide at the last moment if he should actually go through with it. But sadly, he probably wouldn't have time to before she interjected. ]

And then he would speak the things she was feeling as though he saw through her. She loosened her arms from him and pulled away slightly. There was no way she was going to lapse back into madness due to the glitz and sparkle of one night's dance.
She pressed a finger to his lips to silence him and managed a smile. She certainly didn't hate him, but she needed to escape the heat of his embrace lest she want to stay there forever.]
I'm afraid if I don't get some air, I shall faint. I'll meet you on the balcony once a few songs have passed...that is, if that is acceptable to you.~
no subject
Ha. I suppose that's for the best, then. An unconscious partner at such a gathering would look rather suspicious, no? Do what you must, but I'll except you to keep your word. I'll be waiting~
