[ Shakespeare work hard and organized the best thing ever. Or at least he spent tons of money in this party. Soon the day arrived and everything was ready for this to be a night people would never be able to forget. HAHAHAHA THIS IS FUNNY CONSIDERING WHAT IT'S AWAITING FOR HIM

Ah, he'll perk up a bit at the sound of her voice, pulling himself away from the wall since, well, kinda obvious why. ]

Ah, V/V. I suppose it could be worse, but it's still lacking something.

Simple. A dance with my favorite angel, of course. That is the proper thing to do at a ball, after all.

[ Then he'll offer her his hand with a smile. ] Shall we go, then?

[She takes his hand, beaming.] Please.

[ He'll lead her to a spot on the dance floor that isn't as crowded, and pause for a moment to ponder the possibilities. ]

Do you know any dances yet? I wouldn't want to make things too difficult for you.

I know a couple. What ones do you like?

Hm. Show me what you've learned, then~?

[ Because it would be rather amusing to be the one lead for once. ]

[ While part of him was surprised she actually agreed to it, he was more than happy to lead the golden witch to the dance floor. Once they had found a spot, he would pull himself closer to her form, resting one hand on her hip and taking one of her own hands into the other. The slow, simple waltz seemed good enough for the music provided. And of course, his eyes never wandered far from hers. ]

To think I would be complimented by the woman who never passes up the chance to mock me. You've been rather full of surprises as of late, haven't you?

[Of course she'd rest a hand on his shoulder as with any proper waltz. For someone from a far off land and a culture long dead, he danced divinely. It had been a while since Virgilia had taught her to so formally dance and she was thankful that the song was slow and easy enough to pick up. She was most pleased, however to see his gaze firmly set on her. It would be nice to keep him to herself if only for a dance or two.]

I've been surprising even myself lately. Do not think I'm beyond mocking you, though. I simply feel the atmosphere is romantic and I'd like to keep it that way.

Moreover, you've been surprising as well. I'm fairly certain you spoke of wanting to kill me once or twice. Yet, here I stand with your arm around my waist. It's funny how these things progress, hm?

[ The music seemed to pick up in pace by just a bit, and he would adjust his movements accordingly. He would never get too far ahead of her, though. ]

Oh, believe me. I know. Just remember that turnabout is fair play. But how could the atmosphere be anything else? This is his mansion, after all. ...I must admit I am slightly jealous. Had I known something like this was available, I would have snatched it up for myself.

And don't think you're off the hook just yet, either. While I suppose you would be further down on the list compared to... certain other mongrels, there's always a chance that when you provoke a lion, it will bite your head off. Just a fair warning.

You would be jealous, wouldn't you? Ah, but you shouldn't be. You're not really the type for an antique mansion like this. Leave it to a man who can create such an atmosphere.

And what makes you think I want to be off the hook? I like the tension that comes with not knowing whether you want to kill me or kiss me.

Since you've been so kind, I'll tell you a secret. I provoke you because your attention, good or bad, is addictive and I delight in the few small moments that it belongs only to me.~

[ Funny how something as simple as dancing eventually becomes another challenge of power between them. Picking up on how easily she follows, he'll continue along the current path. Perhaps throwing in the odd turn every so often. ]

You do have a point. I would actually have to hire a handful of undeserving mongrels to keep the place spotless. I suppose the condo does suit me more in this world.

[As if everything between them wasn't always a power struggle. She had really found her footing as far as this dance was concerned, and though she let him lead, she still answered his movements with all the grace of a ballerina.]

[ The song should be at it's climax by now, and seeing how well she had done keeping up with him, he simply had to throw in something unexpected. He'll allow her to spin out of his arms for a brief moment, only to pull her back almost immediately and lead her into a dip. He'll hold her there as long as possible, letting his eyes penetrate the very depths of her soul, while his lips linger dangerously close to her own. ]

So long as you keep things interesting, I doubt you'll have to worry about anyone else stealing my attention away. You are by far one of the most interesting mongrels I've met here. I haven't felt this sort of thrill since my battle with Alexander.

[She wouldn't mind a bit of showboating if that's what he intended. Of course being with him, it was almost expected. She'd spin out and glide gently back into his arms only to be met with a more firm embrace than she'd anticipated, one that arched her into a seemingly endless dip. She felt that this man's gaze could withdraw every secret she ever kept and it almost frightened her. She could feel his breath on her lips, practically stealing hers away. She tried to steel herself against this unfair tactic, but no woman can control the pounding of their own heart.]

I...I don't think you have to worry about my keeping things interesting. If that's all you require to hold me this closely, I'll gladly oblige. I can't promise I'll play fair, though.~

[ Even if it had truly only last a few seconds, it must have felt like an eternity. His eyes read every single reaction her body was giving to his small act, and he sure as hell was going to revel in it. This was the one woman who could get under his skin like no other. But sadly all good things must come to an end, and he'll slowly let her back up. Oh, but the grin that was plastered on his face afterward. It was cute how she was trying to be threatening after seeing her in such a vulnerable state. ]

I wouldn't expect a witch to ever play fairly. But I don't believe you'll be able to top me anytime soon.

[ Diao Chan is wearing some fancy clothes here, but once she sees Gil she decides to approach him with a smile. ]

[ Okay, that little number will certainly make him look twice. After all, most of the mongrels that showed up look as if they bought everything from some cheap ass second hand store. He'll have to give a hand to Diao for pulling off something rather naturally.]

I could say the same for you. And while it's nothing I would usually enjoy, I suppose I have had a bit of fun this evening. How about yourself?
